That was pretty much what she expected- not only that, but also a big part of why she decided to bring Hansel to meet Sam at the place where he worked. Because sitting around and being sociable wasn't exactly her brother's favorite thing in the world, let alone in a setting where he was already uncomfortable. The other option would've been at the Rabbit Hole. And Gretel rightly figured meeting Sam before Dean (and his considerably more forward mouth) was a better idea.
So at least here, Hansel could shoot things. Gretel noticed the warmth in Sam's look, but also something else she couldn't quite place. She hadn't known him terribly long, but in that time they'd been more than intimate, and Sam wasn't exactly the most difficult person to read. Something was wrong? And it wasn't nerves from meeting her brother like he'd joked. Or half-joked.
"I was getting to it," she commented mildly back at Hansel, though a little more sober. "We're stuck in a town full of misfits, I figured you'd want to meet the semi-normal ones first." Then while still speaking to her brother, she looked back at Sam with an encouraging smile.
"He and his brother are hunters in this age." She left it at that, knowing there was much more to it on Sam's end, but the descriptor would be more or less good enough for Hansel.
