It was a super last minute sort of thing, and Aria almost wanted to kick herself for not thinking about it sooner. Of course, she would never in a million years guess that today was Sam's birthday, but none of that mattered now. She had decided to help out with a party for him, and that was all she wanted to focus on right now. It had given her a sudden burst of usefulness, and for the first time since she'd gotten to Storybrooke, she didn't feel like things were all that weird. Planning a perfectly normal birthday party for a friend (who just so happened to be a monster hunter, not that she was thinking about that right now) was exactly what she needed.
In true Aria Montgomery fashion, she found a way to get everything done. Maybe she wasn't the smartest out of all her friends, but she was nice to people. And she wasn't shy either. She tended to talk to all sorts of people regardless of who they were. She tried to give everyone a fair shot, and maybe that was her downfall. She was overly compassionate, and people tended to take advantage of that. She could be too easily trusting, almost naive in a way, but she was learning to be better about that. Though one thing she was good at apparently was rounding people up. Through her connections with several different people, she was able to get a place to hold the party, some decent music and entertainment for the evening and refreshments and pick food for the guests.
Now, it was just time to bring the birthday boy over. Earlier, she had talked to Adam about coaxing Sam out of the house and bringing him to the party. Aria told Adam to use the excuse he'd told Sam about in the network, about wanting to go out for drinks for his birthday. Adam seemed amused by her attention to detail and the ease with which she was able to come up with a lie. Aria had blushed and sent Adam away to do his part in this surprise party. Secretly, she thought Sam probably already knew about what was brewing. She'd practically told him so in the network. Relax. He knows nothing.
Smoothing out the bottom of her dress, Aria texted Adam for what felt like the millionth time about their whereabouts and was rewarded with a ill-disguised expletive followed by a location. Great. They were almost there. "Places, everyone!"
