Clarke still found this whole place to be strange with all the technology and that this was the way Earth was before everything went to hell. All she kept thinking about was how Mount Weather seemed fine, but then she was proven right in that the place couldn’t be trusted. No matter how much she tried, Clarke couldn’t let her guard down as she kept waiting for something to go wrong and prove that this place was dangerous. The last thing Clarke wanted was to be around her people because all she kept thinking about was what she had done. Bellamy’s words kept playing in her head as he seemed to not think badly about her; however, Clarke was sure that would change if he ever found out from Octavia what she had done. The choices Clarke had to make. Clarke’s own mother thought differently of her and even though her mom tried to tell Clarke something different, the truth was Clarke didn’t believe her mom.
Part of Clarke wanted the ones from her world to leave her alone just for a bit to deal with things, but Raven was her roommate along with the fact they were still her people….well in Bellamy’s case he was her co-leader and another part of her felt like she had to watch out for them. Clarke couldn’t forgive herself or have others deal with the burden of her choices, but she could still watch out for the people that she cared about. Even in a strange world, Clarke really couldn’t allow herself to relax as her nights weren’t spent more awake than asleep. Everytime her eyes closed, Clarke would see things that she didn’t want to deal with causing her to wake back up.
This evening was no different. Clarke finally dozed off only to wake up a few hours later from the nightmare of Ton DC, which was the one that really liked haunting her memories. Sighing, Clarke saw that it was close to sunrise causing her to give up on the idea of sleeping. Instead of sticking around the room, she changed and left the tower, needing some fresh air and just time to herself. Then again time with her thoughts didn’t always end well, but it was better than tossing around and trying to get more sleep. Instead, she walked down to the pond that she saw during some of her walks, feeling out this place. At this hour, Clarke figured it would be quiet and not many people around to deal with and that was her main goal. Clarke had no idea if she was ever going to lose the nightmares or were the screams always going to haunt her when her eyes closed? No idea if back home whether she would see her people again. So many questions with no real answers to come from them.
Moving over to a tree, Clarke sat down with her back against the tree. No one could sneak up on her and she would hear them if they tried. Picking up a few small rocks near her, Clarke tossed them into the water just enjoying the quiet time and the very early morning hours without the worry of Grounders showing up to kill her people or Mount Weather people trying to kill her friends so they could survive. This place was probably as normal as things would get for them. The thought caused her to toss another rock into the water, watching it vanish in the water.
