My name is Helga Hufflepuff.  I am from Dinas Powys, in Wales.  I have also worked most extensively in Scotland. 

I am, I believe, from a time much earlier than most.  It was the Year 994, in my own time.

I have much to learn about life in this land, and this century.

How would everyone feel about a huge picnic next weekend? There are still loads of you I have never met and I'm sure that's true for several others here. We could all take some time to get to know each other or catch up with people we haven't seen in a while, yeah? It could be fun!

Hey all of you. I've heard that there's a massive amount of us and, being the nosy bint that I am, I wanted to know who is all here and introduce myself properly. So... you should all be a doll and reply here and do that.

To be fair, I'm Dorcas Meadowes and I showed up here a few days ago. I'm twenty-one and it was August of 1981 when I left, so I'm kind of in a culture shock here. Getting used to it, though. I was an Obliviator back home.

Are there any casual kind of teams around here? Lacrosse, or soccer (football, for Brits) or anything? Maybe with non-superpowered people? Or separate teams for superhumans and then the rest of us can cheerlead for you and play on our own as a warm up or something?

The library's got a lot of stock for a little place. If anyone's got books from home they don't mind letting us borrow, but don't want to leave, I managed to unearth a scanner, so I can scan in things for digital copies. Not great ones, but better than nothing for stuff that might not exist on the internet in this reality.

This is probably stupid to say, but I miss school. Helping out at the library wastes some time, but there's just way too much with nothing to do. But gawk. Even if it was summer back home, that's different than being here with no reason to be.

So hi, I'm Minerva McGonagall. I'm 15 years old, current student at Hogwarts and hail from 1940.

Has anyone attempted to send word to the Ministry of Magic about this magical barrier? Or does it not exist in this realm we find ourselves in? I find it absolutely imperative that we find a solution as soon as possible. My husband will be quite distressed by my disappearance.

This place is bloody weird. It's nothing like home at all and my parents are both here. And Harry's basically a kid. You reckon they'll hold my spot in Auror training back home?

While I am waiting to here back from Ms Swan about a legal guardian as I am sure this world doesn't allow people who are underage to live by themselves or with an unknown person which is my current situation I thought it would be best if I started to find my way around town and as much about this town as a I could. Perhaps someone could at least provide me answers on the first?

Also, are there any bookstores here that I could take a look at?

I can't rightly say I've ever expected to be pulled through a portal and told to live in another town before. It's going to take some getting used to and I'm going to miss my Mum and Da something fierce, but it's not so bad here, right? At least there isn't a war going on, but it's a bloody shame I'm not there anymore to fight in the one back home anymore.

Right. My name is Tonks and I'm a witch. I was told that's not much of a secret here, is it? That's going to take some getting used to as well, but I can't wait to meet all of the muggles!

If I don't see one more magical portal or wand in my lifetime it will be too bloody soon. Thank you so much for interrupting my work day with all of this magic business. And this is precisely why I don't approve of this God-forsaken nonsense. I don't suppose there's a respectable place a girl could find herself a glass of wine or three this early in the afternoon.

I have to admit the person who gave me this and explained everything that was going on was most helpful. Still I find it hard to believe - it was only 1940 from where I came from and it is now 2013? I cannot think of any magic that could pull you that far into the future and to America at the same time.
