I've been thinking. We've had a lot of new arrivals lately that are still trying to get their bearings as far as what this place is all about. And with next weekend being a holiday, I thought it might not be a bad idea to throw some sort of get together so everyone new has a chance to talk to the more established, get a decent grounding on things.

So. Who's up for helping me set up a barbecue next weekend? Potluck, we can all pitch in something and hopefully the weather will hold out to let us enjoy the park.

Good news: Paris is still Paris, and wonderful, and I gained about five pounds purely in cheese.

Bad news: turns out if you're away from Storybrooke long enough - or maybe it's just far enough - you start to feel.... like you have to come back? I can't explain it. Something between a compulsion and an actual physical pain. We were kind of afraid we'd be magically dragged back here if we tried to stay longer, so. We're back.

Okay, I've gotta ask this because it's something I've been thinking about since I found out the barrier was gone and I know that was only last night but it's been bugging me. I get that here I'm fictional or on a show or whatever the hell you want to say. It took me a while to get used to that but here at least I knew I wasn't alone in that and no one was going to think I was insane but if I go out there are people going to think I'm someone else or think I'm crazy or something? I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking about this.

As for the portals, well I don't think I'm going anywhere near those. I'd rather not risk getting stranded somewhere if they suddenly decided to close.

Because I have to read something and then watch the movie version and then discuss the difference and whenever I try to look either the book is dull looking or the movie looks awful. So I said I'd be a guardian for this kid, Carl. He's a good kid and I knew the show of his life was about and available to watch so I thought I'd watch it so I could understand him a bit more. I thought my life was bad but then I saw this and I can't believe he's not a mess. I don't know what point he's up to, like what he remembers but there's some pretty heavy stuff he goes through and I don't know if maybe I should ask him if he wants to talk about any of it. I mean I'm not going to just come out and say 'Hey, kid, wanna talk about how shitty your life is?' but I can let him know if he wants to talk I'll listen but I don't know if that's a good idea or not. I guess I'm just wondering what you guys think, I definitely think I should make sure he doesn't watch any of the show if he hasn't already.
