The little Italian scooter mumbled apologetically as Ken's motorcycle roared past, followed by Farfarello on a stolen Harley. They screeched to a halt by the river, leaping into full melee, blades flashing in the sun.

Suddenly a small woman in goggles attacked, wielding a menacing... guitar?

With inhuman force and agility, she drove them apart, smashed Farfarello against a wall, clobbered Ken into a rosebush. Tossing the guitar onto her shoulders, she sauntered off, flashing a cocky grin.

Ken and Farfarello, shaking off dizziness, locked eyes in quick agreement. Abandoning play, they hopped on their bikes to pursue the scintillating stranger.

“Brad! This is crazy!” Schuldig darted from the window back toward the relative safety of his leader’s side. “First…then… Now we’ve got freakin’ BATMAN out there tearing things all to shit!”

Gunfire rang out below, and Schuldig hit the deck.

Nagi watched open-mouthed as a singularly large mecha landed on the building next door. “Crawford…?”

“Steady, men.”

Overcome with curiosity, Schuldig returned to the window. “Holy hell, is that Chuck Norris?”

Farfarello considered the mayhem below. “My money’s on Godzilla.”

Brad Crawford smirked and adjusted his glasses with a flash. “Mine’s on Rogers. But it may take a while…”

Title: Upside-Down

Crawford was dumbfounded.

The simple contract hadn't required the specialized skills of his team. He just had to walk in, neutralize an insignificant target, and walk back out.

He'd foreseen neither bodyguards nor women before approaching the office.

The blonde somersaulted over the first bodyguard easily, shooting him as she landed.

The brunette, swinging upside-down from the ceiling, garroted another with his own tie, then lightly flipped to crouch in front of the desk, gun ready.

Firing together, they eliminated both the target and Crawford's anticipated profit.

Annoyed, Crawford turned. Pointless to continue. The French bimbos had screwed him again.

Crawford's mood lifted rapidly as their glasses were refilled with excellent French wine.

Schuldig muttered, petite somethings and amour, in the background of Crawford's hazy thoughts. The blonde was snuggled on one side, Schuldig on the other, just the way he liked it. The brunette apparently preferred to watch quietly.

He was beginning to get a nice buzz, and almost ready to forgive their faux-pas in taking out his target today. Their gesture of apology, a fine French dinner, was turning out quite nicely. Escargots, coq-au-vin, perhaps pâtisserie et café-au-lait plus tard....

He savored his wine, anticipating the coming feast.

The woman was curled at the foot of the bed, arms loose around her knees. The dark-haired boy spoke quietly, reassuringly. "It's all right. You can let go now."

Tears slid down her cheeks. "He calls me. He has no one else to talk to in the night."

"Trust him to find his own way. It hurts him to see you cry."

Acquiescence. With a lingering sigh, the wraith melted into the shadows.

Touching the sleeper's face gently with a gloved hand, the boy brushed away tears. He turned to walk away, head bowed.

Yohji stirred, dreaming, and breathed Asuka's name.

Lavender from head to foot. Oh, my. A moment of stillness, as the entire club stopped and stared.

Yohji worked his way through the crowd, swept an arm around narrow shoulders. Grasping gloved hands, he pulled the dark-haired boy toward the dance floor. The boy fit easily into his arms, relaxing to the slow beat. His body was pliable, responsive.

Leaning down, Yohji tasted his warm, sweet lips. Suddenly a tall, dark stranger cut between them. The cold glance chilled Yohji to the bone before discarding him.

Glad to be alive, Yohji collapsed on a barstool and ordered another drink.

Title: Battle on a Rainy Afternoon

The stranger with oddly bleached hair wandered in out of the misty rain and struck up a conversation with Aya, who hadn't spoken five words since breakfast.

Unexpectedly, Aya accepted the challenge. Tension grew; tempers frayed as each parried his opponent's subtle attacks. Omi fretted; Ken cheered; Yohji smoked.

The battle raged in deadly, hypnotic patterns for an hour, moving outside when the rain stopped. At last, between the hyacinth and creeping cereus, a clear victor emerged.

Aya had lost. Badly. He stalked off, wounded.

With polite thanks, Hikaru Shindou collected the black and white Go stones and headed home.

Author's Note: ...okay, so I couldn't resist the Harry Potter!!!

Crawford walked into the gateway of Durmstrang, a sharp glance at the wizard sentries scattering them to find the headmaster.

“I trust you received my owls,” Crawford said.

“Of course,” the nearest professor said. “No one expected you this soon. Are you certain that you will not stay to teach Divination class? We are apparently lacking in vision.”

Crawford’s lips twitched into a smirk.

“Brad! They want me to teach occlumancy!” Schuldig cut a dashing figure in his wizard’s robes.

“Later, we have work to do.”

Schuldig pulled out a cigarette and lit it with his wand. “You’re the boss.”

It was a long drawn out battle. Both sides took their shots, but in the end they called it a draw!  That's right, Weiss and Schwarz came in at a tie this week with 30 points each!  Looks like the trophy will have to spend half the week with Weiss and half the week with Schwarz.  The women of Schreient were too preoccupied with Masafumi to participate.
