Welcome and congratulations! It is a big step to join a support group for a subject as touchy as your weight. Let us be your cheerleaders, your friends, your weight loss family. Let us cry with you, help you, laugh with you.
This asylum is for those of us who are trying to lose 15 pounds or more. Here we can share our daily struggles and successes, as well as some delicious recipes and good advice.
- Please keep the community on-topic. Posts not relating to exercise or weight loss will be deleted. Advertisements for other communities that are unrelated to weight loss are expressly forbidden. Any spam will be reported.
- We are an asylum devoted to healthy weight loss. This is not a pro-ED community, and any member advocating such a lifestyle will be banned from posting. Advocation includes, but is not limited to: starvation or any posts involving starvation diets or excessive exercise that are not doctor-ordered. Any of these things, if brought to my attention, will earn you an automatic ban from posting here if I find the conduct is egregious. There are countless websites and journals out there for people who are trying to starve themselves, and this will never be one of them.
- Please use proper grammar, punctuation and capitalization--it will make people much more likely to read and respond to your post. If you can't act and speak like an adult, this place may not be for you. Be respectful at all times. You can both be critical of someone's actions in the community and take criticism in the community without being a jerk. Not everyone is going to agree all the time, so if you disagree with someone, make sure you remember that the username you're responding to is a real person who is here for the same reason as you are.

SparkPeople - Similar to FitDay, but flashier, with more content and more support.
