Title: Lonely in Your Nightmare

Summary: How could you leave me?...Or did you?
Author's Notes: This idea popped in my brain and I couldn't let it go. Cross-posted at my journal and at various places.

He stared in disbelief at the body in front of him, unable to react. The skin beneath his fingertips was growing colder by the second, all he could hear was the sound of his heart breaking.

How could you leave me? How am I supposed to go on?

The tears wouldn't come, only the feeling of his blood turning to ice in his veins. His will to live left him as a part of him died in that moment, He knew he would only have a half-life now. One to please others, and not for himself.

George woke with a start, bolting straight up in bed. Hot tears ran down his cheeks, confusion clouding his thoughts as he tried to sort out what was real.

He looked over and saw Fred, sound asleep right next to him. It took several moments for George to realise that his brother was really alive, it was only a dream...

Sighing, he moved closer to his twin, wrapping his arms tightly around him. Shivering still, he willed himself to calm down.

A few minutes later, he was asleep, happier events with his still-alive brother replacing the horror from before.

	I did the same thing--only read DH once and then gave it to my husband. Besides, if any characters can cheat death, it's the twins, they're like James Bond in a way! It's caused me to embrace AU. Thanks! The longer hair is just so lovely.... ;) (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I had a friend cheer me up just after DH came out with a drabble (that she hastily wrote over IM) where the twins created something called 'Death Defying Dopplegangers', which Fred used to keep himself from dying. Not at all, there doesn't seem to be enough of us twins fans out here. On lj, bestmeatsawards had a epilogue challange right after the book came out. I wrote one ( now being bestmeatsawards it had to be a Ron/Harry fic ) however; I did have Fred and George in it briefly and explained how they and Snape were able to survive. Basically, Snape helped them make a cloneing postion, which they later sell as a confection or some such at Weezes:)

And their children ( Fred/George's and Fred George Snape's child ) sells them at Hogwarts. I felt better after.

	Awesome, I'll add you now. :) And you're right, there's really not enough of us (at least not vocally). I think I read one like that and enjoyed it very much! About 90 percent my writing since DH came out pretty much has centered on differemt ways Fred stayed alive. Seriously, Fred is too smart to die in such a fashion. But that's just me.
