A Long Overdue Heart to Heart (Gwen/Ianto)

As Gwen set the large bag of groceries she scanned the new hub for signs of Jack and Ianto. "Guess they must be out so now is my chance to take over the kitchen" since they had been taking turns with meals over the last little while. Tonight would be a very Welsh stew since between missing Rhys and her own still wild emotional state it would act as a small dose of solace. As she found needed supplies she for a split second felt like Owen was nearby, teasing her over something or another. While for a moment she felt like she could hear Tosh typing away on her keyboard while catching up on both paperwork and light hearted gossip.

She fought back a fresh round of tears and channeled her private pain into dinner. Beyond those moments she was doing pretty well: from trying to wean herself off her mirgaine meds (still hearing Owen in her head since he had been trying to get her off the meds before he died) to fitting in among the local police. But her guard was down now: if there was anyone she could really trust Jack and Ianto (along with Rhys) were at the top of the list. As she started a fresh pot of coffee she could hear someone at the doorway of the fake employee kitchen that acted as hub entryway.

Misery Loves Company (Open to Torchwood)

Gwen had spent most of the morning at the station aking connections with other cops when she felt the stabbing pain come back. She knew from what Owen had told her it was the first sign of a mirgaine and she knew with her emotions off the chart crazy they would be worse than usual. So after a graceful exit (and leaving her cell number on a card) she somehow made it back to the coffee shop/Hub. After speed brewing a pit of coffee she slammed back a cup but could feel the pain wash over her. So after taking her meds she crashed onto the hub's sofa (one she found by accident a few weeks prior).

But she knew when Jack or Ianto returned they would know something was wrong: the smell of her puking fit could be smelled from the hub's doorway.

Supply Shopping (Open)

Gwen was out on a mission: supplies for the coffeehouse she and Jack were within days of having open to the public. So as she walked she scanned buildings, trying to find the supply shop she had located a few days before. "All this for a few bags of fancy coffee and a few trays of cookies unique to England" she mused her her breath. She made a note to stop at the paper as well to look into rates for an ad,*Because afrer all Torchwood Coffee does need the press* able to smile a little more.

But unlike a few days before Gwen was starting to smile a little more. From the shop to restarting Torchwood to even finding a local version of PC Andy, maybe things would get a tiny bit brighter. Only thing missing: Rhys.

Just a Normal Coffee Chat (Gwen,Allison)

Gwen had left a note for Jack before leaving the hub,"Went for supplies and to meet Allison for coffee, will bring some back for you :) " as she left the new version of the Hub. After a quick stop to tend to some matters before the cover cafe offically opens she stopped off at the coffee house from a few weeks before, having made sure to somehow stand out in a way beyond her accent (this time being bright red sneakers). But this was a small step for Gwen, finding she could make friends and have a small dose of a life beyond Torchwood. Plus maybe this would be a nice friendship, something she has missed since Tosh died.

Meanwhile Back at the Hub (Gwen,Jack and Ianto only)

After recent events with Cupid Gwen was offically reeling since nothing was making much sense once more. "Just wish I could tell if what happened was a local version of the Rift or something else period" as she typed into her laptop, the Hub computer system still being worked on at the moment. But all this had triggered a couple of nasty mirgaines in the last week or so, proof in the med bottle by the computer screen. Between keyboard taps and file checking she had been nibbling on some pizza that was in the fridge from the night before. "Note to self, redo the shopping list" she made a note on a nearby pad.

"This is one of those moments I wish we had the Archives" she mused under her breath. Of course that was not knowing anyone could even hear her at the moment or could see how miserable she really was.

The Alien Chasers Get Hit (Venkman/Cupid)

Gwen had been on a simple mission for coffee and to start getting the cover aka coffee house set up for Torchwood when it happened. She ended up chasing after a flying person shooting arrows at people,"Well at least its more orignal than weevils!" as she dove into an alley mid chase. She spotted a nearby building so as she turned to see if there was anyone inside was when Cupid's arrow struck the younger woman,"Your aim is worse than Owen on a bad day!" as she dove inside to avoid more flying arrows. She was trying to pull the arrow now loged in her shirt when she felt something she could not explain, whoever crossed her path would be in for a suprise to say the least. "Anyone see anything crazy in the last couple of hours?" she called, hoping someone would answer her.

Renewing Bonds and Facing Shared Darkness (Gwen,Jack H and Ianto)

After making sure Ianto was safely set in front of one of several heaters Gwen decided to go to work on a huge pot of coffee and something warm to eat, so soup sounded perfect (and goof proof). She mused to herself while chopping carrots,"The weather is just like Wales, only with more snow" having picked up a ton of supplies in case things did get worse weather wise (from coffee and supplies for soup to takeaway menus and supplies for some typical hub meals). As she worked she watched the space that leads to Jack's living space, part of her wanting to see the reaction to Ianto being with them once more. But part of her was reeling, right about then she would have heard Owen smarting off for some random reason and Tosh's keyboard clicking away a mile a minute. So as she shoved back her tears she went back to soup making. "Now all we need is that bag of noodles, chicken noodle soup and this weather just work together" she mused to herself.

She set her phone close by in case her note at the station brought in possible sources.

Not in Cardiff [Open]

It had only been a few weeks since Ianto had moved into Tosh's place on the team, putting his computer and technological knowledge from Canary Warf to use. While he knew he wasn't nearly as brilliant as Tosh had been, he was doing everything that he could to bring some semblance of normalcy back to the Hub after her and Owen's deaths.

It didn't take too long before he had thrown himself into spending most of his time pushing himself harder, working to the brink of exhaustion, doing all those little essential tasks that did, in the end, help them, but nothing that he felt anyone else in Torchwood had the inclination nor need to attend to.

Keeping busy. That had always been his way of soothing himself to the point where he wouldn't have the chance to refine thoughts abandoned for lack of time to examine them. Every thought in his head, every emotion in his heart, shoved far enough aside so they would all seem to fade away, or be placed in the cushioned box of distant memory, where they could lose their bite.

It was further evidence of his unhealthy manner of dealing with grief, which had soon resulted in a predictable firming of the unemotional walls around him. But it kept him from dwelling; the Rift was still discharging all manner of weird and wonderful backwash, so most days he barely had time to breathe, let alone talk.

This night was no different )

Note left on Police Station Message Center

I am the Police Liaison for Torchwood The City and would like to touch base with any cops that have had experience with the supernatural or even just local weirdness. Just trying to find a few sources that can lend a hand on an as needed basis. With the recent zombie attack I realized it would be useful to touch base with people within law enforcement at large since we can all help each other on various cases.

My cell phone number is below and that's the best way to reach me in the meantime.

Making the Hub a Home (Jack H and Gwen)

Gwen had left a note for Jack that she was going to get some much needed supplies for the Hub. As she returned with several large shopping bags loaded with food, coffee and basic living supplies (due to her finding a version of Jack's bunker and a small studio by the looks) she called,"I'm back!" as she went to work on a huge pot of coffee and a typical Hub breakfast.

"All that's missing is a local version of the Weevils" she observed to herself while cooking. But the smell of eggs could be smelled all over the small kitchen as she worked and went looking for the bottle of hot sauce she had bought. But for right now something as small as cooking breakfast was doing her good.

"Now where was that hot sauce!"

Aftermath (Open but Jack H or Cameron preferred)

Gwen finally ventured out of where she had been holed up during the zombie mayhem and realized something: she had to link back with Jack and get more meds. But with a blinding mirgaine looming she did the one thing that made any sesne, she was going to text Jack. So slumped against the wall of the coffee shop she was still holed up in she fished for her phone and dialed before typing out a text.

Jack, its Gwen.

I'm ok but feeling like crap. Come to this address since I have a feeling this place wants Torchwood back in business and bring meds?

As Gwen hit send she only wanted to pass out and it showed. But inside was where the real darkness was, only Jack knew how miserable she really was. During the zombie madness she was facing nightmares of how Tosh and Owen died only weeks before and she just pushed her feelings back in order to keep fighting.

Ok, Now What Do I Do? (Who-Verse Only)

Gwen was firing off shot after shot in order to keep running. She had been doing runs of supplies for various hiding places between the new possible hub she had found and the main streets and was running on nothing much by this point. "Ok, make 2 more supply drops and high tail it back to that shop I located, Jack you better contact me. I am starting to worry" she hissed as a massive mirgaine was forming. She dove into what looked like a police box, that alone struck her as very odd as her hand went for her gun. "Ok, hide out for a bit and then make those last two runs" she decided as she fished for her meds.

We Never Saw Zombies Via the Rift! (attn Jack H, The Doctor and Ace. Otherwise Open)

As another round of shots blazed through the alley Gwen Cooper was not taking this very well. She had faced weevils, she had faced various Rift gift creatures and she had heard stories of the Daleks and the Cybermen but this was Cardiff brand weird times about ten. She had texted Jack and opened she would find him very soon (and in one piece).

But for now she was doing what any cop in her shoes would do. She was getting people to safe havens, going on food runs for various shelters and ducking zombies. "At least zombies are kinda like weevils" she observed as she ducked into a coffee shop to get some air. That was when she discovered the trap door that looks like the shop kitchen. Of course being the curious sort she had to take a look around and that was when she found what looked to be a dead ringer for the hub back in Cardiff. That sealed her decision so she called Jack and aimed for his wrist device.

"Jack its Gwen. Come to this address and trust me on this one. I think this place wants you and me back in business, will explain more then."

A Night of Ghouls and Ghosts (ATTN: OPEN ALL)

Halloween.  Tony Stark's favorite time of the year.  The weather was perfect, not too hot or cold, trees around the city were changing colors.  And he had no reason in the world to complain here.  He and Pepper were together, and it'd been a blissful few weeks since their initial union.  For the first time in years, Tony could say he was happy and satisfied.

He'd sent out invitations city wide in hopes of drawing in the citizens to his home for him to have a chance to meet them.  He hadn't ventured out much since he'd been here, mostly because even if he was ever the social butterfly, Tony was too focused on fixing the once damaged relationship between him and Pepper.  Now that was all taken care of and here he stood in his bedroom putting on his costume.  He'd laid his choice of cstume out on Pepper's bed for her to put on, chosen since she'd lost to him in a little game they'd played to determine what they'd spend this night as.  It was custom tailored to fit her form perfectly, having taken the dress she'd worn for their first night together and used its measurements.

He stared at himself in the mirror, thinking that his goatee would make wearing the mask a little awkward at best, but he didn't care.  He thought since he should play the mysterious host of the night, that he should don the look of someone just as mysterious.  Taking a step back from the mirror, he attempted to twirl the cape, almost tangling himself up in it the first few times until he got the hang of it and smiled.  Affixing his mask to his face, he smirked as he gave his appearance one last once over.

The Phantom of the Opera was ready for his grand entrance.

[ooc: If you're character is showing up, feel free to start your own thread under this.  Tony will attempt to greet everyone but might not for getting sidetracked by others.  If you plan to crash the party, I will start a separate thread after a day or two to give people a chance to do regular party stuff.  Have fun, and don't be shy with your characters!  This is a very social log!]

A Puzzle (attn Cameron and The Doctor)

Gwen decided at least for now she could lose herself in a juicy sounding puzzle. The man from the coffee house had peaked her interest and she did need to get her meds refilled in the process so a trip to the hospital was in order. After leaving a quick note for Jack along the lines of med refill but have my phone she set out for the hosptial. "Ok, this is ten times weirder than Carfiff, floating buildings location wise is a new one" making a quick mental note to ask Jack about that one as she walked.

But she did find the hospital after about 30 minutes of walking and getting lost. She asked to see Dr.Cameron if she was free as she stood at the front desk,"Its not a crisis but I just need to see about a refill for mirgaine meds" she explained. But Cameron had no idea of Gwen's private misery, something only Jack had seen and was facing along with her. The other mystery was the more interesting one at the moment: this guy who knew Jack. *Maybe from his past? There was quite a bit before Torchwood?* she got to thinking while waiting.

But in case anything does go wrong her gun was neatly hidden in the spare pocket of her knapsack.

Private Pain (Who-Verse Only)

Nobody knew how deep Gwen Cooper's private pain really was. Nobody knew (besides Jack and Ianto) that she had been popping painkillers at a pretty decent clip to keep the blinding mirgaines at bay. Nobody knew her heart was still in Cardiff and that the simple ring around her neck was also her link to Rhys. Nobody knew Gwen had still not been able to really mourn for her fallen friends. Nobody knew she would not let anyone see her cry, not even Jack. Nobody knew she could still hear Owen's wisecracks and the tapping keys of Tosh's keyboard. Nobody (besides Jack,Ianto and Rhys) knew she would cry herself into a massive headache over anything that reminded her of Owen and Tosh.

For now Gwen spent another lonely night wandering the city and trying to unravel what exactly she was feeling. She was just more scared of letting anyone see her crack...

Painkiller Hunt(Open to Jack Harkness, The Doctor and Cameron)

Gwen scribbled a note for Jack so he would not worry.

Going to the chemist to see about getting some OTC meds at least for the short term. You know how to find me

Grabbing her bag, cell and making sure the bottle from her last round was in hand Gwen went to hunting for a proper chemist (aka drugstore). But while most would figure simple hangover her emotions had gone into overdrive and she had not mourned for Tosh and Owen, one major cause of the recent headaches. The fact she was missing Rhys was not really helping matters either along with the ongoing puzzle of how she ended up in The City.

But she also has one other puzzle on her mind, was The Doctor the one Jack had told her and Ianto about? "Well maybe I can find some coffee and see what exactly is going on while I hunt for a chemist" as she wandered into a coffee shop.

Go Go (Open to anyone and everyone)

It had only recently become aware of the concept of monster movies. In this new body, this new form, it had taken to doing some more human things. One of them had to been to visit something called a video store, rent some videos and find some place to watch them. Since it was The City itself, it just made a house with everything it needed.

One of those videos happened to be Godzilla, featuring a giant angry lizard. It sat intrigued through the whole thing and bolted to it's feet at the end, fresh with a new idea.

There would be a zoo in The City. It would collect animals to put them on display. The City didn't currently have a zoo of it's own, which was sort of sad for the children. But they'd grown up here so they didn't really have a concept of what a zoo was. They would love this.

It would get Godzilla. The monster couldn't be that big, could it? After all, it had ransacked and Japan was a small place to begin with. Just an island. Sort of like The City, only ... different. Plus it had stayed mostly in Tokyo. One city.

After Godzilla, it would get some dinosaurs maybe. A unicorn. A phoenix. Dodo birds. Things that people would know but had never seen in their lives. It would be fantastic. Everybody would be filled with wonder. They would be pleased by what The City had given them.

Retrieving Godzilla as it had everybody else, The City suddenly realized that it had not only misjudged the creature's size, but also it's intelligence and determination. The cage that had been constructed turned out to be rather flimsy.

Just as one of the lesser writers for The City Voice was receiving information about the zoo for an article, Godzilla broke loose.

This is not The Hub (The Doctor or Jack Harkness please)

Gwen Cooper was out like a light the moment she hit the Hub's semi ratty sofa. She had been working on needed reports to start the rebuilding of Cardiff when Ianto had almost forced her to take a nap. To be honest she was nursing another massive headache from all the stress and her unshed tears from losing Owen and Tosh only days before. Her only solace: Jack,Ianto,Martha,Andy (her former partner and still friend) and her husband of only a few months Rhys Williams(which explains the wedding ring on a chain around her neck). But when she awoke she would be on the sofa, but not in the Hub of Torchwood 3 or even Cardiff.

Gwen awoke with a still blinding headache (caused by the landing),"This has to be a dream" happy her bag was slung around her ankle (with a couple of days worth of clothes, her gun and various odds and ends) still. But she would somehow blend into The City since most would figure the otherwise pretty brunette was just hungover from a night out, dressed in slightly battered jeans and a simple black pullover. Her mission was simple: get some painkillers and find someone that knew what in the heck was going on here.

Little does she know that someone from her world is here.....
