John's fingers had almost grazed the webbing when he heard the screams, and then the shuffle of activity. He paused, fingers still outstretched. Then he turned and moved forward, till he got around a corner and saw...
Two humans. One smelled of pure terror. The other had traces of glee, but those were overshadowed as it's attention was on the rather gigantic, hulking form sitting on top of the male.
It smelled.... John couldn't place it. But it certainly wasn't human, though you only needed eyes to know that.
Once upon a time John would have run in, possibly tackling the monster. Possibly hitting it with a two by four or trashcan lid. But now, he was simply fascinated, and his heart figuratively pounded as he watched the action. He stared, a fellow predator, nearly salivating as he listened to the creatures words.
Almost entranced by long long fangs and rippling muscles, John stepped from the shadows, hand lingering on the cold brick corner of the building. He waited, grinning, fangs unconsciously popping as his pupils dialated, watching the hunt eagerly.
