Eric had changed the lead in to the chorus and he was quite impressed that John had noticed. It was a subtle change, something small but definite in hopes of bringing out more of John's sound. Once he had given John one of the two things in store for that evening, Eric knew the sound quality would improve exponentially.
And then came the jest about buying dinner and Eric chuckled, "If that was somehow possible I absolutely would, but I have a feeling that there is some crazy law against buying young women for consumption," Eric teased. It was too bad John didn't eat real food like he did, then he really could have taken him out some place. "You'll have to figure out something else, then maybe I would consider it."
In the meantime, the hybrid motioned to one of the empty studios. A set up was arranged in there and in the center was the instrument itself. An acoustic that plugged in like an electric. Next to it on the floor was a small combo amp that would be suitable for filtering the sound. "That's for you," Eric explained. "If you hate it, then I'll understand, but it'll help make you a little louder without compromising your sound."
Then the hybrid reached in to a pocket of his leather jacket and produced an item. He held it up and out to John with interest. It was access to the building, attached to a fob in the shape of a crow. "Here. This is a key to the front and back door. I wanted you to be able to get in wether I'm here or not. I might not be around some nights, but that doesn't mean you can't come and practice here. If you bring someone, make sure you can trust them. This is a safe spot as long as we maintain its presence."
