Eric had no reason to lock the doors. Not while he was there, anyway. The place, as unwelcoming as it might have looked from the outside, to be fair, was an area of public domain. It wasn't as though he could really keep people out, the City moved the studio as it saw fit and advertised it in spite of what Eric wanted. Even if the doors had been locked if someone really wanted to be in the building they would have gotten in.
He had hoped that John would find the urge to stop by when he felt like it. The vampire coming and going was sometimes a random occurrence and Eric enjoyed the presence when it came. It wasn't much of a surprise, Eric couldn't be surprised.
The hybrid was, presently, finishing up editing a track. The soundboard sat spread before him, a task he needed to finish before the conclusion of the night. He wasn't usually one to leave things unfinished.
A click of the door and the hybrid caught scent of his friend. Slowly he wrapped up what he was doing, toying with the knobs on the device, waiting for John to get closer.
