John chuckled softly to himself when Mel mentioned meeting the other Pam, and seemed as unhappy about her experience as he'd been with his own. He nodded. "I ran into the other Pam first, before I found ours," he said, wincing slightly though he still smiled. "She... seemed unimpressed with me. But I understand she and her sire have been through some hardships. I'm sure we'll all get along better with time."
He didn't comment or allow himself to dwell on the imagery of the three women in bed together. He couldn't imagine that leading anywhere appropriate, and more likely than not the result would be frustrating for him. He simply gave Mel a slight wink, then gestured towards the sidewalk in invitation to walk with him.
"I'd be happy to lend you an ear," he said. It was a young night, after all, and he certainly had nothing more pressing to do. As far as John was concerned, Melody belonged with his family, and he was happy to take the same time for her as he would for Eric or Pam.
