John could smell the rush of blood to her cheeks, and the sight of the slight reddening made his stomach stir slightly. Still, he was full enough that he could push down the hunger. It would be a bad idea to snack on Pam's claim without permission, and John was still a well mannered being, despite the arguable absence of a soul.
The look on her face when she spoke about the others, however, made his eyebrows crease slightly in concern, and he took one more small step towards her.
"Our Pam and Eric are still here," he said, confidently and comfortingly. He tilted his face, not having run into Pam too many times but unable to remember seeing or smelling Mel on her when he did. "Have you seen her yet? I'm sure she'd been looking for you. But we didn't all come here together, I believe all of us found ourselves waking in different parts of the City, initially."
He liked Mel, and for more than just her powers or carnal talents. He found her generally pleasant, and knew her importance to his elder sibling.
He glanced around their surroundings as well, and slowly nodded. "Yeah. Well, as soon as you get used to the noise and light. Does feel more... familiar, at the least." Having never been a vampire in a more civilized setting was slightly unnerving for John, but he was adjusting. It brought back memories of his pre-vampiric days, and heightened the contrast between previous and new existence.
He shook his head slightly to dispel his thoughts, and gave Melody a reassuring smile that was much more Pastor John than he'd felt lately. "It seems safer, though, and yes, you don't have to worry. Pam is here, we all are. You're not alone."
