Bruce knew there was no cure. Her words confirmed that rude truth so that he didn't have to and he was glad he didn't have to break it to her. But that wasn't helping the situation at hand. Her memories had apparently come back, but she would work through it. He was sure the shock of the memories themselves hurt worse than anything besides the experience.
"Well, if someone found a cure then there is still hope. If you want me to keep working on it, I will. I'm not giving up on you, Liv." He knew none of the tainted zombie drinks existed here so she could worry less.
He wished there was some real way to help her but he was at a loss. Only time and support would combat what she was feeling and he could at least offer her a bit of support. He slid an arm around her and drew her in close, holding her in a half hug.
