He was glad that she liked what they had now. That pleased him a great deal and the world didn't feel quite as lonely now as it had before. It seemed much easier, much simpler and he was glad for that as well. They could pick up from whence they left and it would feel as if they were simply walking in stride together. As if they had never stopped walking.
Perhaps one day Eric would share the full story with her. But it wouldn't be that night. Not wit the way Macklyn felt about Peter and the way their relationship at present hinged. Eric would do nothing to further jeopardize what he had with his mate nor would he say anything even to Lee about such sensitive subjects lest he give away information that no one needed to know. He couldn't have, anyway, even if he had wanted to.
"You can visit any time," Eric promised.
His arm unwound from hers as her body plummeted from the wall and toward the sea. A chuckle and Eric nodded, "As you wish." And then he, too, dove from the brick wall and met the water gracefully just like his friend had before.
