Oh the look on her face was priceless. Had he a camera, Edward would have taken a photograph of it to place on his fridge back at Arkham. He didn't even think to snap a quick pic with his cellphone, he wasn't used to such things. Effie would have made some quip about it, had she the opportunity. Just thinking about her stung. Oh it stung.
But he had to play nice, he was in the running for mayor after all. The City leader couldn't go around hurting young girls for the mere pleasure of watching them bleed. But that didn't meant he hadn't considered it.
Edward knew she had ties to Stark, to Banner, and to anyone else that might be lurking about on the heroic spectrum of retribution. No. She might have been a target but the price for claiming her was high, and Edward wasn't sure he had the capital worth the expense.
