As soon as Eric appeared John's head lifted, wide eyed, and upon seeing his maker relief flooded through him. "Eric," he said, straightening and stepping forward quickly.
Then he caught himself, realizing how ridiculous he must look, and straightened his back further, straightening his jacket. Eric didn't seem upset with him, but that didn't mean he wouldn't be hard on himself. He wanted his sire to think well of him.
"I was just-" he stopped and shook his head, collecting himself before he spoke. "I was unused to the sounds being so loud, and I was anxious about being alone. I didn't know you were here," he said, then couldn't help a small, relieved smile. "I'm glad you are. Where-ever here is."
He was still hungry, and his senses still adapting to the new environment, but he knew Eric would know what to do. He hesitated.
"Is Pam here too?" he asked, cautious of becoming too hopeful.
