"You didn't come here to lecture me?" Zoe's voice was steady, and she stood slowly.
"You thought you would do me a favor and tell me my ex-husband decided to end it by flying into the black, only there's a wall that keeps us in. You thought you'd make sure I knew just how I'm not taking care of someone because I'm not at his bedside?" She stood slowly.
"My name is Zoe Washburne, Ms. Harvelle. And you won't show yourself out. I showed you up, and I'll show you down. But, I suggest you listen very carefully before you try to be civil and helpful again." She rounded the desk.
"I'm sure you know things get a little tricky here. It's how this place is. Wash said he didn't want to see me anymore. I gave him space. Space don't mean I'm looking the other way when he does something stupid." She took a step toward Jo, pausing.
"It's not about being the bigger person, Ms. Harvelle. If it were, I'd lose. Now...shall I show you out." The warrior woman didn't go into just how complicated the situation was. Maybe Jo knew about Jesse, maybe she didn't. Zoe wasn't going to explain, but she wasn't going to be given attitude for something someone didn't understand either.
