The comment was a little snooty, but Jo dismissed that. She hadn't come here to tell Zoe everything. Maybe it didn't make a whole lot of sense and for not the first time, she wondered if she had a right.
She wasn't sure how much she wanted to share this particular news while stuck in an elevator with Wash's imposing ex-wife, but she also wasn't one to beat around the bush. It wasn't that she was scared of Zoe because Jo could certainly take a punch or three, but she also didn't really think that brawling with the woman was going to help anyone.
So she took a deep breath and just let it out.
"Wash tried to kill himself a little while back. I don't know if he'd want me telling you, but I feel like that's something that you should know. For both your sakes. For what it's worth, he seems to be doing better but still..." she shrugged helplessly. "I don't know him nearly as well as you do and I can't help but feel like the person who knows him best in the City should know what's going on."
