It was perhaps a good thing that Jo had met Charlie before this, but even then, his questions made her pause. She followed him into the kitchen and was a little relieved that he didn't offer to eat in the dining room.
'He bought a table for you.' That memory was much too fresh and the kitchen was better by far.
"Are you going to arrest me for murdering ghosts, Detective Crews?" she asked with half of a smile on her face.
Charlie was a strange one, though Jo was glad for the stream of conversation all the same. At least she didn't have to worry about sitting around in awkward silence, she supposed.
