Beauty hung back just inside the door, knowing full well the draw of the library. She was pleased to watch someone else get pulled so thoroughly into its grasp.
"It did," she confirmed. Seeing him standing there in her library, she realized she'd never had anyone else standing just there. She'd shown Lestat, but he'd done nothing more than comment on how nice it'd been of the City to give it to her. She'd never, ever welcomed anyone who understood so well as Abraham clearly did. She warmed from watching him.
"Some of us were transported to another place, oh, perhaps a year ago now. It was a terrible place, and everyone was in such trouble there... When the City found us and brought us back again, the library was waiting for me. It was a sort of 'welcome home' present, I suppose you could say." And then she was grinning. "Isn't it just lovely?"
