Leto took the few steps up until he was standing at the center console, and the smile he wore grew and grew by degrees until he was laughing -- laughing like someone said 'I love you.'
He was a pilot, himself, and having been in Wash's shuttle, he felt at home. But this, however clearly it was a ship, was so foreign to him that he couldn't imagine how the controls worked. He looked at them, but knew that without instruction, they were as meaningless as the name of this ship itself -- the TARDIS. It was as of yet still an enigma to him.
But the best part about all of this is that it was wholly surprising to him. He'd not been surprised like this... ever, until Oswin... until this man... until this ship.
He found a rail and leaned there, grinning like an idiot. Time traveler. And this is how he did it. Bending space -- bending time -- his heart hurt so much to see it, he was sure it was going to come right out of his chest. He laid a hand over that heart to try to still it and just kept grinning.
