Abe's head whipped around at the sudden voice and emotion aimed directly in his direction. He pulled his exposed hand into a fist and gaped as the man continued his measuring up of the fish man.
He eyed the gun and lowered his own. No reason to give him any more reason than he already had to shoot. He held himself cautiously as he slowly put his gun into the holster of his belt. Then he held up his hands in a defensive posture at his head.
"I assure you I am relatively harmless," he said, trying to diffuse the situation. "I am not fae, that I know. But as far as who beat me with a 'fugly stick,' your guess is as good as mine. I know my face is not the most endearing but despite appearances I am a surprisingly mild-mannered,sensitive soul who is simply...a little lost."
Both sets of his eyelids blinked rapidly, re-wetting his eyes and showing his nervousness.
Abe tried to look as innocent as possible, which was difficult with the emotional musculature in his face being nearly nonexistent.
