Lindsey nodded. Despite his knowledge of who and what Hannibal was, he couldn't help but smile as River and Hannibal embraced. He was glad for her, definitely. Even if she was some kind of danger, it was obvious to him that River didn't mean to hurt people. There was a difference between manslaughter and murder. A very delineated one.
And considering her history...
Lindsey handed Hannibal the letter in response to his question. "Here," he said. "It's with, but might as well read for yourself."
He smiled at River.
"Look, I'm glad that this turned out this way, but I think we all know how this place works. I don't want to say it's to good to be true, because legally speaking, it's what I think should happen. But be careful, okay?"
He didn't want to have River as a client again. Or Hannibal, for that matter.
"I feel like this place is out to get people," he added. "I'm always here if you need the help, but I don't know how many times the City's gonna actually go by the book."
