Ted didn't like the way that the receptionist looked at him, or the way that she said those two words. It worried him. Even if she'd done something bad, he didn't think that such treatment was warranted.
He shook the hand of the man who was the principal and introduced himself again, even though they clearly knew who they were looking for, but it wouldn't do to start this meeting off on the wrong foot. Particularly since it felt like they were both the wrong feet.
"Alright." Ted agreed. "So there was an incident in class. What's the worst she could do? She's a little girl. And a nice one, at that."
