Ted had not expected the call from Jo to end in him heading to the school to deal with an issue she wasn't able to describe to him. Nobody had told her what was wrong, just that something was. They had called Jo, and when she hadn't been able to drop what she was doing, she'd called Ted. Ted could only guess that they'd called Wash first, and that Was was stuck doing something else.
It felt strange to be going to a school to speak to the principal. He'd not done that in over twenty years. And his girls hadn't ever really been the sorts to get into trouble. Not until he'd done his asshole things, anyway. They'd rebelled a bit after that.
He got to the school and had to ask directions to the principal. It wasn't a small building, by any sense of the word. He'd never been there before, either. Not having a reason to be and being an ex-con just seemed to spell trouble in Ted's mind. That part of his brain didn't care if he worked for the City now. That part of his brain told him that everybody knew exactly what he was, and they'd be less than happy to see him around kids.
Once at the right spot, Ted went up to reception.
"My name is Ted Earley. I'm here on behalf of Joanna Harvelle."
