Wash made a couple of attempts to respond to that observation but ultimately gave up. He would never get used to watching his language around her. Instead he made a failed attempt to straighten some of her hair as acknowledgement.
"Uh, that's good to know about Tony's--Have you tried to escape before, Bruce? I mean...that was pretty high up on my priority list even after everyone told me it was impossible," he said interrupting himself.
"Not exactly digging yourself out. First thing I thought was going up and out. Just a might surprised you haven't heard of it before now! I mean, you've been here longer than me, I assume. Not that I--not that--I'm just curious. Seems like everyone should want to leave this place," Wash said, frowning.
"--Oh. And I'm sorry for saying a bad word," he said and pointed to her incredulously. "This kid, huh? So...observant! Heh! What's that--right?!"
