"This is a little silly." Fred would have glared at Jack had he been looking at her. She tried to get in front of Jack as best she could, which wasn't easy. "What are you two fighting about? And what kinda game needs swords? Unless you two are thinkin' bout fencin' and I don't see any of those track thinggummies or the little things you hook up to make the light go bing when you score a hit. So, stop this right now."
She didn't stomp her foot, but her voice suggested she thought that both of them were acting completely ridiculous. Jack was trying to defend her, and the boy wasn't doing anything to her. And the boy was actually taunting Jack with what looked like a very deadly sword. Now that should probably have made Fred a little nervous, but she'd seen way worse.
"You back up." She pointed at the boy with all that leather and red. "Go on now." Her hand rested lightly on Jack's arm. "I want to know what is going on here."
