When good things go bad (Eric)
The last few nights had been exhilarating. The crone couldn't remember the last time so much fun and mischief were to be had, and certainly couldn't remember having someone so interesting to share it with. It bothered the crone sometimes how much the Viking was becoming part of her world, or actually how much he was a part of it. There were no ridiculous school girl notions as the crone had no wish to change the Viking. Yet, when she, or he, had said that Eric's death would be a very bad thing, he, or she, had meant it.

The nights had been filled with extreme debauchery, as if there were any other kind, and the crone in the borrowed male form had enjoyed every moment of it with the Viking. They had taken a few to someone's bed. They had put the silly humans through so much turmoil, teasing them to the point of pleading. There was blood, lust, sex, and chaos. There might have been a little death in there, but Baba really didn't care. In the end, it had been a nice vacation and release for the crone.

The crone had gotten away during the day; while the crone was immortal, closer than even the Viking, he/she did need something more than what the small snacks Eric kept in his place. Perhaps the closest thing to domesticated either would ever be, save for Baba's cabin. So, the man had slipped out, careful that no one was watching, to eat some fruit and meat. A few large meals, none of which the crone paid for, and he was back before the sun was setting.

Perhaps to awaken the sleeping prince, or simply because the damn thing felt so good, the crone in the more manly shape he/she'd been wearing the last few days took to the shower. The sensations were so very different from one body to the next; a small curious notion had settled into the crone's mind - maybe she'd have to see how Eric felt it next, or someone else....

Eric had been enjoying his time with the male version of Baba, Jack. He knew he could have just as much fun with her in her female body, but there was something about her ability to change that he liked very much. It gave him ideas. Quite naughty ones, really.

They had gotten into some severe devilry. He didn't think that he'd been into so much debauchery in a good long while. Some, yes, of course, but this much? In the matter of days? No.

He had very much, very much, loved all of her suggestions.

He, himself, was not thinking much of what they'd exchanged. The idea of one or the other dying and somebody winding up unhappy about it. He had accepted shortly after that the words had been said that it was the truth of the matter, and not going away. It was what was. No reason to brood on it. If it changed, he had no doubt that they would have another discussion about it.

Eric didn't mind Jack coming and going as he pleased, Baba knew the rules and how important it was to keep the day place hidden. She knew that should she do anything to disrupt the flow or give things away, he would not care much about his feelings toward her, she would be punished. And Jack had Baba's brain, very clearly. Jack would understand just as well as Baba did.

He did not wake early, but not because he could not. With the blood of the crone in him, he could wake hours before the sun went down. But he enjoyed the sleep that came after their adventures, the warm, deep sleep that desired to last long after his daily rest. And he enjoyed indulging in it.

So it was no wonder that the shower was the thing to wake him, and not the setting of the sun. He stretched in the bed and rolled onto his back, smelling the scent of their playtime all over himself and the sheets. It took much to get him to get out of that bed, but he did love the shower, and the shower was calling.

Eric strode like a big lazy cat from the bedroom to the bathroom. He didn't knock, just went right in. He could see Jack's form through the foggy and textured glass. A form that he had come to like very much. He opened the shower door and stepped in.

The crone paused as there was a change in the shower. A tilt of the head and a small glance. He knew it was Eric without looking, but he looked anyway. He hadn't done much in the way of soaping up, just enjoyed the way the water played over his body. He also liked looking at this body; there were a few places that could be enhanced, but really, Jack Horner the multitalented multistoried fellow, had been pretty close to roguishly perfect.

"Sleep well?" He didn't turn to look at Eric; rather he closed his eyes and let the water splash over his face before grabbing the shampoo. It amused him somewhat that hair length was the same for both forms he'd taken recently. He had never really liked the long tresses that Xanadu wore. They were gorgeous, suited her, but they were such a hassle. Red Riding Hood had been fond of longer hair herself; Baba had made it shorter.

"I ate fruit. You can tell me if you taste it." He sounded so matter of fact, as if he were only experimenting. That the sharing of blood, at least from the crone to the vampire, was just something they did. In a way it was, but it usually came with much more.

"I have been thinking about your trip into the sun." Shampoo pooled in his hand for a moment before the bottle was put away and hands were lifted to start lathering up his own wet hair. He turned to face the still taller Eric, reaching up if the man didn't stop him, to put some of the built up lather in the shorter blonde hair.

"You'll probably have to give me some of yours. I'm hard to kill, but I don't want to be weak." Yes, the crone had actually been thinking about this side of the blood sharing as well.

He nodded, a little sleepily, to answer Jack's question. He had slept very well. Had the shower not turned on, he might still be in bed, even. The one thing he did love above a soft, comfortable bed was a warm, long shower. There was just something about a shower that every piece of him loved. Baths were pretty damn nice, too.

Eric lowered his head some, so that Jack could better shampoo his hair. It was not a strange or unusual thing, this. Lovers often cleaned each other. It was something that he and Baba had begun to do, so it was only natural that it flow over into Jack as well. It didn't feel odd to Eric.

His eyes opened a little and he watched Jack's face as the discussion about the sun experiment started up from nowhere. Eric had been thinking about it for a very long time, wanting it as soon as he'd heard Baba say it might be possible.

"I am not opposed to that." Eric told him. "But you should realize that if I do so, our bond will be that might tighter. You will begin to feel things that are not your feelings. I will always know where you are."

Eric didn't have to lean so far for Jack as he did for Baba in Red. The fingers, strong and long, worked the lather into the blond short hair, massaging the vampire's scalp almost absently. When he thought he had done enough, he shifted a little and started rinsing out his hair and off his hands. Eric would get a shot at the water soon enough. The crone didn't mind showers, but pools...they were still held a very bad memory the crone.

He shifted a little, maneuvering the slightly larger man under the water. It had been awkward at first, but only a little, and now it was second nature in how they moved. Or almost. He did smack the Viking's ass simply because it was there. The sound was also very pleasing.

"I have considered this." Long fingers were once more on Eric's body. They weren't exactly cleaning, no soaping, just touching. It really was an absent appreciation for the man's body. "The risk is rather great on either side in this particular situation. You will have to drink deeper than you have before."

A pair of lips joined the fingers at Eric's neck, another move that was so much easier as Jack. The lips were followed by a bite, neither soft or hard, just teasing.

"I will have to have some strength should it not work. I have no idea if I can stop you from blowing up in a large fire ball. And you're pretty fucking heavy." He laughed softly. The crone actually saw the experiment taking place at a time Jack was Red, a smaller body that would definitely need some extra something, even if it was just a spell to get a burning corpse back inside. "Plan for all contingencies."

Another biting kiss placed on Eric's shoulder. "The bond will be what it is. If it is tighter, stronger, then that is the risk I will take. Feeling other feelings, I suppose that could be interesting. The question is, will you want to know where I am...always?"

Eric braced himself against the walls of the shower when the bite came. He truly felt the nobody who hadn't spent time as a vampire could know what that felt like to one. He waited for the teeth to break skin, but they didn't. He only barely restrained a sigh.

"Luckily I do not blow up into a large fire ball. The burn is gradual. I can stand to be in the sun for a few minutes even without your blood in me. It's very obvious when it starts." Which was a fact that he and a few other vampires were lucky for, really. If they all just exploded into flame, some of even the strongest and smartest of them wouldn't have survived so long.

"You will be the first that I have shared like this with who is not progeny." Eric stopped, and thought of Fred. "Or food. I cannot say I would be upset to know where you are. I would not use it to track you or keep tabs on you. It would just be pleasant to know you still exist in my world whenever I seek for you."

Jack rubbed fingers over the previously bitten skin. The crone could probably break skin, but they hadn't finished their discussion, had they? Hands slid up the vampire's arms, keeping him where he was. The crone knew that Eric could move, overpower whatever body being used, but there was something about Jack's body holding Eric in place....

Jack bit again into the Viking's shoulder, harder this time. "Good, then I won't worry about you exploding into fiery bits and pieces. The burning, I suspect, is not permanent. Or you'd probably have the ruined flesh."

His lips were near the vampire's ear, nibbling for a moment before he had to laugh, short and sweet. It wasn't that he was laughing at Eric, but there was something interesting, something that made the crone smile, actually laugh. There was joy in the laughter rather than derision.

"You'd be the only one I wouldn't mind being able to find when seeking." The cabin had its own methods and sometimes those were damn irritating. Eric knew that the relationship between cabin and crone was a strange, tricky one. He bit again before kissing at the abused skin. It would heal quickly, if it bruised at all. "We should do this soon. The City will probably have some ridiculous idea, and I would not like for your fun to be interrupted by its idiocy."

Eric's eyes remained closed at the hands of Jack touched him. Wouldn't it be a funny thing to meet the real Jack and be able to picture him without any clothes on? Every single nook and cranny, there in Eric's mind, while the poor boy would have no idea what had gone on.

"I am ready when you are."

"I'd prefer dryer than this." Jack gave Eric one more bite before stepping away and giving his ass a slap. He would finish getting clean if the vampire let him, letting the vampire get clean as well. As soon as he was finished, he climbed out of the shower, drying off.

"Say 'good bye' to Jack's face." The crone had become accustomed to Red's face and body, and would prefer to be under any strain in that one. As long as there was power, the crone would use it, hiding her true nature.

Eric was finishing off his washing when Jack spoke again. He peered around the door of the shower to watch the change. He'd not seen it when Baba had become the young man, and was curious as to what it looked like when it happened. He assumed that she was going to make the transformation right there in the bathroom, as there was no movement to the otherwise.

He stared.

"And?"

And? What did he expect? Some grand show? Hadn't he learned by now that the crone wasn't always one to make large shows when smaller ones worked better? Eric no longer needed to be wowed or amazed by magic; then again, the crone doubted that he had ever needed that.

The crone waited a moment, pulling at energy from the City, from the store within. It was all there. There wasn't any deficiency of power. And? The still very male lips thinned. Eyes closed; it'd been some time since anyone had actually seen a transformation. The crone did not suffer from performance anxiety.

There was a tingly in the skin, the stretching, pulling. In fact, Eric may even see it, feel the energy being spent. This was taking longer than it normally did. Then there was a pop, well, something the crone felt rather than something that really happened. Eyes opened, and the smile was smug until the crone realized eye level was the same. She should be looking up at the vampire, not...

"What the fuck?" The voice was wrong, too. Yes, the crone knew how to curse, in the more mundane fashion. The crone moved to the nearest mirror, eyes wide at what was reflected back. "No." The mirror cracked as this was not at all what should have been there.

Eric removed himself from the shower with a quick jab to the water controls to turn them off. He realized very quickly that something was wrong. He didn't even need Baba to speak to realize that she'd not succeeded in changing back from the body of Jack Horner.

He only grabbed for the towel out of habit, he was drying himself off without even thinking about what he was doing.

"I saw the power. What's happened?" He almost asked if she knew, but before the words could leave his mouth, he realized what a mistake they would be. Out of anger, she might do some terrific harm to him after a statement like that.

As far as Eric knew, nothing could keep Baba Yaga from doing as she wished. It was a thing he liked very much about her. She had her own power, she didn't need his. Yet she liked his. And he liked hers. It was a mutually beneficial attraction in that regard.

The eyes that glared at Eric were definitely not Jack's. They weren't even Red's. They belonged to the crone, and they certainly spoke of just how angry she was. It was taking a good deal of will power to keep from tearing Eric's home apart in anger.

Jack stalked out of the bathroom, needing more space from the Viking. It was saying a great deal that Eric was still standing unharmed. Of course, a few of his things were exploding, but nothing that was overly precious. It could all be replaced.

Standing in the middle of the room, Jack floated; in fact, much in the room started to float. It wasn't a question of ability, of power then. The City hadn't even bothered to turn it off; the crone could use as much power as desired. But, the face was the same because the body was still the same. One look down told the crone everything. With a growl everything dropped, even Jack, who crouched on the ground.

"It's not me." He stared up at the ceiling, as if that were the direction the City's essence was. It was everywhere, but the ceiling worked for now. "Nothing's wrong with me. Except I'm in this fucking body!" A few more things exploded. Books might have jumped off shelves, something might have caught fire.

"I should leave." The lose of choice, of not being able to do as she/he/it pleased, was embarrassing and aggravating. Very rarely did Baba Yaga not get her way; the small desires did not bother her, if they didn't come. It was things like being stuck in a body she did not want...that upset her. It was like being captured, and Baba Yaga really did not being captured.

Eric watched the display of power from right inside the bathroom door. He watched silly belongings he had more for decoration than that he cared about them be destroyed. The only thing he really worried about was the fire. That could be dangerous. To him personally.

It fizzled out quickly, however, and Eric didn't pay attention to the rest of it. He didn't have a maid for this place, but it would take him only moments to get it all clean again.

He didn't know what question to ask that wouldn't annoy the shit out of her. He didn't even know if he should continue to address Baba as 'he' or 'Jack' or if that would get him impaled with something. She was certainly more pissed off than he had ever seen her, at any time. He had read of her anger in the book that she had bought from Beauty, the book that she had allowed him to read, but he had never imagined that he would be seeing it first hand.

"Do what you have to." It wasn't a dismissal. It wasn't in any tone she might take wrong. It was a statement. And in that statement, he told her very clearly that he wasn't taking a step closer until he was positive she was not going to be harmful.

The crone stared at the vampire, knowing just how easily the seemingly strong flesh could burst into flame. With just the right focus, that body could be nothing more than dust, and that actually pissed her off even more. The City had to know she would be upset; it had to know that Baba Yaga would lash out. The crone was a creature of a very odd habit, but if one watched and learned, as the City has been doing...

"I'm going to rip its throat out." Granted the City didn't have a throat to rip out...at least not yet. Not bothering with clothes, the crone left the destruction behind. Perhaps to her credit, the crone did make precautions as to not give away Eric's hiding place.

The naked form of Jack lifted from the street, rising into what would soon become a storm. The City had experienced snow, because it had wanted to, but tonight, it would feel the fury of a very pissed off user of magic. The lightning split the sky; thunder didn't just shake windows, it broke them. Rain and hail fell from the sky, destroying plants and ruining anything else that might be left out in the open. The crone didn't seem to notice the damage the weather might be doing to the body.

"You will pay!" The cry was lost in the show of power, but the City probably knew exactly what was said without hearing it.
