Hopeful Attempt (Jareth)
Looking over his spells one last time, Howl nodded in satisfaction. Between his books and his own training, he felt sure this was it. Or as close as he was going to get. That little voice in his head nagged that he couldn't be sure, and to not set himself up for disappointment. There was really no predicting the City's influence. By now, he'd already begun to think there was some sort of consciousness behind it. There had to be, or why would someone like him have been brought here? It couldn't be coincidence that one of the greatest wizards known to his world was abruptly relocated here.
The time had come to contact Jareth.
Great wizard or not, he couldn't do this alone. Even in Ingary he had been aided by Michael and Calcifer when he needed to move the castle, and that was within the same world. Speed was of the essence, and spells would be needed throughout the castle. He also needed a little more magic than just his own to make this work. He was counting on Jareth's abilities to give the magic an extra push.
He pulled the mobile phone out of his pocket. He'd played with it enough already to know that mobiles had come a lot further in this world than in Wales when last he was there. He scrolled through the names, locating Jareth's with little trouble. Pushing it, it gave him the option to "text". His fingers, unused to the keypad, slowly made out the message.
