Are you there, God? It's me, Batman (Jesse)

It was one of those nights. It had nothing to do with having missed patrol because she was helping out a certain "leprechaun;" no, it had everything to do with some recent modifications to her suit. It felt awkward. Or maybe it was that last hit from that jackass who thought he'd get a good one in before he went down. The Batman took a very hard hit, but the damn "man" didn't stay down. A good knock to the head and shoulder didn't mean the dark knight was out for the count.

With the burglars trussed up for the local PD, the Batman had left the scene to look for more criminals to apprehend. It was strange to fill her nights with this, to live a double life, but she was beginning to wonder who exactly she was living a double life with. Those she knew were either gone or busy, or she met at odd times - Sweeney was becoming a very strange recurring figure in her life story. No one knew her well enough to actually feel like she was hiding anything. Though, there were times she did want to tell someone. To share this news so that it wasn't such a burden, even if she wasn't having to actively keep a secret from anyone. )

The bar (Death)

It was before sunset, Eric was already awake. He attributed it to Baba Yaga's blood. The little he'd had was enough to give him a strange sort of energy. Not that he'd be walking outside anytime soon. But he didn't feel like he was going to get the bleeds, being up with the sun, either. He didn't feel tired, he didn't feel less about anything. He felt as if he could do everything as normal. Just the sun was up, which wasn't quite normal.

The problem with being up with the sun was that he was walking around the interior of the bar and not seeing the things he should have been. The day girl, George, wasn't here. The bar wasn't cleaned. Things weren't being set up for the coming night.

Eric didn't like it when he wasn't obeyed. Especially when he was paying somebody to do what he said. This was beyond just being late, too. There was hours worth of work that needed to be done. She hadn't even been here. He would have been able to tell if she'd come and then gone. And she hadn't.

He went to his office to see if a note had been left, and found nothing. He looked around the bar for any sign of anything and found nothing again. If she'd just forgotten to set her alarm, she'd better be ready to grovel for forgiveness, and if it was anything else, she'd better have a good fucking explanation.

As if dealing with the City's humans wasn't bad enough, now he had to deal with a flaky reaper.

Beam Me Up ... and Up ... and Up ... [Open to All]

The Enterprise's transporter device was malfunctioning.

Spock had been working on the bridge to fix the problem for hours, but there was only so much that could be done from the bridge's engineering console. The main problem had to be in the transporter room itself. Were Spock a complaining sort, he would have huffed about how this was a job for Montgomery Scott. But Spock rarely (if ever) complained. And the few times that he did grumble in the presence of others, he was either under the influence of emotional seed spores from exotic mind-altering flowers or ... well, let's just say, his time of the month came around once every seven years and made him a little ... testy.
And there was nothing more annoying than an irritated Vulcan. )

[Note: Open to any and all. Feel free to have your character randomly beamed up to the ship for any length of time, be it a matter of seconds or hours. Multiple interactions and ship-wide exploring encouraged!]

Tuna Fish Omelettes and Blueberry Pancakes [Simon]

Jake was an early riser. It came with being a semi-nocturnal creature. He spent many hours of the day sleeping, and many hours of the night roaming around. Sometimes he went out. People called it prowling, but Jake just thought of it as going for a walk. The City was different under a cover of darkness. There were different smells, different sounds, different people. It was like an entirely new world. And, being an explorer from another galaxy, Jake was naturally curious about such things.

That and it was in his nature to walk across fences and howl (like alley cats were opt to)whilst others tried to catch up on a good night's sleep.
Waking up first meant getting the bathroom first. )
