Welcome to RC Folk!

So, on Friday, the transition between [info]reality_crisis to [info]we_coexist is going to be happening, which means we're going to have a bunch of new people coming over to explore the City for a little while.

We'd like to say welcome to all our temporary citizens and let you all get to know one another! Go ahead and use this post for introductions and plotting. You may have already interacted some over on the other game, but there are some people who haven't gotten that chance yet, so feel free to gab it up here!

Hi all! I'm Lauren (2, unless there's more Laurens since I was here last) and I used to play here a while ago. I'm back, and bringing in a new character: Megan "Pixie" Gwynn from Marvel's X-men comics! For reference, between Fall of the New Mutants and Age of X, so she is in possession of her Soulstones but hasn't lived an alternate life in a horrible dystopia where she was a mob assassin and had bat wings. She's thankful for that. Really.

Megan is: a half-fairie mutant with wings, hallucinatory pixie dust, and a teleportation spell/magic dagger that she got after having parts of her soul ripped out in a hell dimension. Which is kind of a lot for a sixteen year old kid to take in, but she's managing. Also, she wants to be your friend. Megan loves friends. Does the City need a barista? Because she can do that. Even though she probably shouldn't be around caffeine. She's hyper enough as is.

Good to be back!

Lookee what we have here!

Why it's the entirely loveable, entirely charming and completely un-shut-up-able Cpl. Jensen from The Losers! (Movie-verse) Brought to you today by myself, Krista, the entirely enabled.

I will most likely be posting his entrance tomorrow, as tonight I am fighting off the tryptophan effect, but I welcome any and all plotty goodness ideas!

Hello!

Kelly here with character number 5. *headdesk* I have a problem. :)

Anyway, this is Lois Lane, Smallville edition. For those not familiar with her, she's basically a younger version of comics and movie Lois, which means she's a little bit more unsure of herself (not that she'd ever let anyone see that) and a lot more eager to prove herself as a journalist. For those familiar with Smallville, she's from right after the 3rd episode of season 8, so she's actually from a time where Clark was still saving people secretly.

Which brings me to potential plot! Lois' editor at the City Voice is going to give her an assignment to do a regular feature-profiles on some of the more unusual residents of the City. Which means that she's going to be all over the City trying to track down interview subjects. And once she chooses someone, well... "pitbull on a pant leg" might have been used to describe her when she's onto a story. :) So, if you want any of your characters to be in the line of fire, let me know.

Also, she tends to get in over her head. She's not a helpless damsel, but there's every chance that she might be in need of rescuing, so if you'd like to volunteer your character to be the one to put her in that tight spot or to save her ass, that's cool too.

I only have one request in regards to logs. I'd like to draw out her finding out about comics for at least a little bit. Mostly because I'm amused at the idea of people having weird reactions to her and her not knowing why. Bonus points if anyone puts on glasses and makes a crack about how she must not recognize them! (though of course, this version of Lois knew Clark was Superman before he put on the glasses. canonfail! *sigh*) Of course, I know that Lois not knowing about comics won't last all that long, but I want to have some fun with it while it lasts :)

New player!

Hi! I'm Krista and I bring to y'all Zatanna! Who swears she isn't behind that storm going on right now.

Shadowcrest (the Zatara home) planted itself right in the City on a previously empty lot complete with one confused, fishnet wearing mystic.

Looking forward to blending her into your mix! I have access to the internet all day so unless I get swamped at work can usually reply. My AIM is: wyrdfae and my email is: thedrau AT gmail DOT com. Plotty goodness or even silly one shot logs are welcome!

Thanks!

woo!

dear all-

while i am sad to report my job is still mostly eating my life, i am pleased to bring you a new character: lindsey mcdonald, of 'angel' fame.

for those that aren't familiar, this means the city now has a lawyer. and a damn good one. he's morally questionable and changes good and evil hats more than i change my socks. he's a lot of fun, and actually is my favorite ATS character. don't tell lorne.

if you've got a character that might need defending, he's your guy. he's also your guy if you need a good country song written. he's free (and so are some of my other characters, at the moment), so let me know if you've got any ideas.

lorne, NOW WITH MORE lindsey, river, lestat, veronica

[info]i_justify

Hello!

My dearest friends. It is with great joy that I announce (after having dropped two lectures, one lab, and sliced my work hours down to two days a week) that I have two (yes, you heard that correctly) new characters for you.

The first is Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens from the television show, Justified. Raylan is homegrown Kentucky blue grass, through and through. (Though he sometimes wishes that weren't the case.) He grew up in Harlan County, full of misfits and hillbilly troublemakers. After working in the coal mines for years, he finally left Kentucky and joined the U.S. Marshals. He's well known for being quick at the draw and for bringing a 19th century style of law enforcement to present day. I'd like for him to get involved with other characters in the game who have law enforcement affiliations. So if anyone is looking for a new partner, give me (and Raylan!) a call. And, of course, chasing down bad guys. For more detailed information you can look at his biography.

The second is Robin of Locksley ([info]i_hoodwink) or, Robin Hood, as he is better known. Though this version of Robin Hood is mostly inspired by the film, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (don't lie, you like it, too,) I have included some more common aspects of Robin Hood lore into his history to accommodate ridiculous chronological defects in the Costner film (in which Robin apparently created his Sherwood empire in little more than a day.) Yeah, right. Anyway! I do believe there was a forest in The City a while back, but has since sort of ... disappeared? Well, if that is the case, consider the forest back! And (provided it's all cool with the mods) I think it would be amusing if, like the buildings, the forest shifts without warning as well. (Imagine you're driving your car down the street and -- Watch out for that tree!) Once settled, Robin will be situating his home out of the forest and trying to get a band of individuals ("Merry Men!") together to 1) borrow money from the other, more well-to-do, residents of The City, and, 2) annoy Sir Guy. And his information can be found here.

Questions? Comments? Concerns? Candies?

Hi hello!

My name's Jen, and both I and my pup are totally new to the City. I'm bringing in Deacon Frost from the film 'Blade', and...well, if you've seen the film, you know what to expect. *grin* All you need to know is on his userinfo, I should be bringing him in in the next couple of days.

Deacon's going to be showing the darker side of vampires - he has his regular club nights, Bloodbaths, which are usually held in or near meatpacking plants and abbatoirs.

my AIM's atraflamma, gmail is cryogenicwings at gmail.com, or just drop me a comment here if you have a particular desire to thread with big D. :)

Thank you for being a friend...

Greetings all. Kate here, with another critter. This is Rose Nylund from St. Olaf, Minnesota. Which she will be happy to tell you all about. At great length. Whether you want to hear about it or not.

This would be Rose, from the Golden Girls, and I hope that you’ll all enjoy playing with her as much as I enjoy writing her.

Would anybody like to plot with her?

[info]i_frak

Greetings!

This is Marty. Finally returned. After careful consideration of my character muses, I made the difficult decision to drop all but Jake ([info]i_meow). Perhaps sometime in the future, if the voices come back, I will revive them. But, in the mean time, to stimulate the writing senses, I bring you a new addition to game from a fandom that has never breached The City's walls.

This is Dr. Gaius Baltar, survivor of the Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies. Gaius was a scientific genius living in Caprica City who relocated to the Battlestar Galactica during humanity's search for Earth. He's self-obsessed, egotistical, dishonest, womanizing, and a little bit crazy. He speaks with what most characters might recognize as a British accent but that's actually a well-practiced Caprican accent overshadowing his underlying Aerilon accent. He also has a friend, a blonde Cylon woman most conveniently known as Six, who is only visible to him. This makes him look like even more of a crazy when people see him "talking to himself." Gaius is mostly looking out for himself, though Six can be very insistent about many of the decisions he makes, particularly those that help him follow the path of the One True God, (yes, she's a strong proponent of monotheistic religion which very often clashes with his background as a scientific atheist.) For those of you familiar with the show, Gaius is being taken from his prison cell (where he was put after being caught by Adama's Colonial forces at the Temple of Five on the algae planet.) More specifically, he is being taken from the episode 3.13 "Taking a Break From All Your Worries". In other words, Post-President Pre-Religious Cult Leader.

Contact information is all the same. I hope to get Gaius and Six involved in a lot of plot. For those of you who have seen the entire show, you may ask if it is possible for certain other characters in the game to see Six. Not wanting to spoil what she is exactly, my response to this is, yes, it is possible that other characters in the game might be able to see her. But that would be completely up to her discretion to reveal herself to them and dependent on the other character's role in the proverbial shape of things to come. And for those of you who have never seen BSG and have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry! Gaius will play with any and all characters. (And Six will just mock them in the background.)

Questions? Comments? Frakkin' concerns?

Here she is, Willow Rosenberg! Because, obviously, I can't get enough magic-users.

Willow is coming from mid-season seven, post-evil, pre-Kennedy. So gimmie a poke if anyone wants to meet the cheerful gay Jewish Wicca. Plot is welcome!

Will get a starting post up sometime. I'm still feeling sick, and there is Harry stuff going on at the moment.

Hi all, Li here with a two-fer. Karrin Murphy of the Dresden Files on this journal, and Oliver Queen (Smallville verse) at [info]i_shotanarrow. Note the clever Longfellow reference. Um. Ok. Moving on. In other news, I am finally starting to come out of the woods after having those nine bones yanked from my head, and I have the rest of the weekend off, so if I owe anybody tags, please poke me and I will get right on it!

Ivy!

Hello all,
Kelly again with my third character. (Finally decided)

This is Ivy. Hide your gardening shears or she might impale you with them. Also hide your menfolk, because she wants to toy with each and every one of them. (hell, her pheromones work on women too-she just has more issues/anger towards men)

Anyway, I'll be doing her intro post sometime this week probably. (though maybe after all the fun with the wishes has died down) But in the meantime, give me a nudge if you want to plot.

I'm not sure if everyone knows since I didn't have it when I first joined, but I am on AIM as dreamsofnever for all your plotting needs. :)

Also, Kate-I know we've never talked, but Harley and Ivy plottage would be so fun! Ivy needs to find her BFF!

[info]i_havefaith

Hello!

My name's Chi, and I am new (but kind of old, if you were here a long scary three years ago, during which time I went by Nat) and I bring with me Castiel from the TV show Supernatural, circa season 4. Cas has a good heart, (rather rare among his brand of angels, you'd be surprised), and as an earth-bound sentinel angel up until a few years ago, he doesn't have any knowledge of the outstanding universe, so many here will probably be dismissed as unknowns to him. He's powerful in his way but one of those who doesn't flaunt it.

I hope to bring in Arthur from Nolan's Inception soon, but that app is still pending, so no promises. As it is, here is Cas, and I'm happy to be here. :)

Addition: Now with more Arthur! [info]i_takepoint. Both my characters have one-icon syndrome that I'll fix when I get back to a home computer!

[info]i_amangels

Hi, Liz here, with Character #3. He was around in the GJ version of WC as well, but unlike Jean-Paul, I'm not rebooting him. I'm just saying he was... around. Possibly in a black hole for awhile, but around. >.>

Proginoskes comes from Madeleine L'Engle's A Wind in the Door. He's a cherubim (yes, that's plural), though he kinda resembles a seraph (or a bunch of them). He's pretty much on the side of Good/anyone not trying to destroy the universe, but cherubim in his world aren't celestial soldiers so much as they are scholars and students of the stars.

He looks like a big ball of feathery wings with all types of eyes in the middle, and because he can breathe fire, is sometimes surrounded by puffs of smoke. His eyes aren't always all visible at once - he uses his wings to cover many/most of them, especially when he's here on Earth. He sometimes also appears as a flame or as nothing at all, though when he's invisible, his presence can be felt as a wind rushing around. Progo always communicates via telepathy, though various wing/eye combinations also convey emotions.

He's kinda weird and hard to describe. :P Anyways, I think it'd be fun for him to meet some of the other angel/demon-y types - and Mila wants him to meet Jake, which I think would definitely be interesting (mm, feathers). XD I'm open to other ideas too, of course!

[info]i_stealanything

hullo again!

It's Liv and I just thought I'd make a soft entrance for my second character, Eugenides (pron. YooJENnedeez or something) from The Queen's Thief series. I'll do my best to be as unspoilery as possible because not a lot of people know this series, I think, and you all really, really need to read it, that's how awesome it is, but he's coming off from the third book so you can expect another character who's gone through a lot of shiz. He's just 20, though.

As for the basics (which can get spoilery), he's a thief. A damn good one. And he has a hook for his right hand. He's small, he's lithe, he's fast, he hates killing people but he's pretty adept with a sword and better on running away. But aren't they all! \o/ Also, he has a scar on his cheek and other places but clearly, his icons/Max Minghella don't/doesn't but hey! Sometimes, it's nice to give our imaginations work to do. ;DDD

Plotseses, etc can go to slidersjoypops@AIM and anyone who's read the series can spaz with me here or there, too. :D Mind, though, I hadn't read the fourth book yet. Paperbacks can take a lifetime to get published! >.<

[info]i_digmummies

Greetings

Tereesa again, with my second character. Allow me to introduce Amelia Peabody Emerson from the Amelia Peabody series written by Elizabeth Peters. 19 books in all, I am bringing Amelia into The City after the fourth book, which ended in the late spring of 1896.

Amelia is an Egyptologist, archeologist, and amateur sleuth. She has that proper Victorian English manner, and is highly intelligent and very stubborn. She is a staunch supporter of women's rights and has a special affinity with parasols, rain or shine. They make excellent walking sticks, and are great protection, and not only from the elements. Properly constructed, they can be highly adequate weapons.

Please let me know if you have any plot ideas for Amelia. I am open to any ideas!

[info]i_dramatize

Salutations!

I am Tereesa, and this is Howl, from the book Howl's Moving Castle. His personality is very similar to that in the movie, but his history is quite different in the book.

Howl is a flamboyant, talented wizard, and a male drama queen. He comes to The City with his castle and fire demon, Calcifer. He definitely falls into the category of metrosexual; he likes to look pretty, and loves to hit on the ladies. All his info is in his journal.

As this is my first time in this game, I am going to need all the help I can get. And I need lots of fun things for Howl to do, so I am wide open to any plot suggestions.

*Bows and leaves the stage.*

[info]i_choose

Why hello!

Beth here, bringing in my last character. This is Raven Archer. She's from Demonology 101, which is an amazing webcomic. I played her briefly before We_Co closed and I wasn't sure I was going to bring her back (she's kind of shy), but then I had an idea for her and decided to give it a go.

For those who don't know D101, Raven's a (half-)demon who was raised by a human. She's also a prime example of nature vs. nurture. Basically? She is the most normal kid you'd ever hope to meet, except that she has a long and unpleasant history of being abducted, used as bait for her foster-dad, and toyed with by other demons. She's homesick, but being here in the City is actually a plus. Aside from the normal City weird, no one's tried to bother or manipulate her in ages.

Anyway, she's now working in the Magic Box as an assistant manager (she's still kind of young to manage on her own, after all) and taking classes at the local college as a Freshman. If anyone wants to run into her, I am all for it - don't mind the red eyes and pointy ears, she's a nice kid. Promise.

[info]i_gobble

WELL Hello there!

I am Nikki and I am again taking the role of this ravishing lady Scholar/Explorer/Church Agent/Kidnapper, Mrs. Coulter (and her adorable golden monkey) from Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy.

So adorable.

I had them in WC's greatestjournal days and I am excited to be back, meeting new (and old!) friends.

Some additional info!

- Mrs. Coulter is [info]i_amtrouble's ruthless mother, but she comes from an earlier time when she has not even met her daughter yet.
- Power to her is like Pringles. You know, once you pop...
- In between the game gap, I imagine she's been snooping around as usual! She's been intent to finding a way out the City and also knowing everything about it as any legit explorer would! With the help of her spyflies

Awyeahsteampunkgadgetry!

- Also her evil laboratory is in the City too, the Bolvangar station. It was abandoned for some time as she concentrated her exploration efforts in the City. It's kinda like Arkham, but for kids.
- The golden monkey is her animal familiar, her soul's physical manifestation. It is always up to no good. Like her.

Do hit me up for plot at sightseeker @ gmail.com! Or Selfinexile at AIM during weekends. I like teh plots. (They do too. They actually like meeting new people. They're people persons.) Looking very much forward to playing with you all!
