on the curb. in alleys. on trash cans. in the park. on the street. in subtle places, where the eye lingers to.
the words are bold and in chalk mostly, but they clearly read: BAD WOLF

Rose had left Eddie to his friend at the hospital, at least there was some comfort in doing what he would have if he was here. He helped people, couldn't help it, it was just in his nature. Even if it meant his own troubles, that was the sort he was. A good man, and she missed him. The reality of him being gone, really completely gone, was sinking in. Rose did not like the sensation one bit. Death couldn't stop him, why should a silly little thing like The City? Still, there she was.
She leaned her forehead on the bright blue door of the call box and indulged in a minute of true self pity. Everything they had endured, everything he'd shown her...gone. New body, new life and now this.
"I take it back, everyfing I said, I take it all back just..let me find him."
Her Doctor, the ninth incarnation of the Timelord had won her heart and only with great pain did she see him go. He changed, emotionally as much as physically for his tenth time around. But she missed him, that former self of his with the beaky nose and fast shifting eyes. She'd never gotten the chance to tell him... And then the change of course. Everything old was new again and she couldn't tell him then.
Even if he was still The Doctor, he was a new version of that. Hard to reconcile the heartache of a loss with the joy of a gift. She'd been given another chance but it could never be the same. She couldn't lean into the comforting scent of that leather jacket, or muss that short clipped hair.
Too much thought. She was running off at the brain as bad as she normally did at the mouth. The back of her had wiped burgeoning tears from her eyes and she stood up straight, fishing in her pocket for the key to the TARDIS. She found it, set it in the lock and turned the door. Almost fully inside before she dashed back out again. The wall of the hospital, red break and stucco.... Words ten feet high in scrolling white spray paint.
"Bad Wolf..."
Something halfway between a laugh and scream tore from her throat and Rose spun around in giddy display of a woman finding herself not so lost and not so alone anymore.
