hey all, a couple important updates and questions for you! for new players who missed the first mod post (and those who might've forgotten it), they'll always be under this tag.
there is now a PLOT DROPBOX!!!!! i was going to make this a monthly post type thing, but zoe helped me realize that a dropbox would be more efficient. you can find it on the main dropbox page! you can't miss it; it's like. right there. this game is for you guys to give some input too, so hopefully this can be a collaborative experience for us all ♥
after some debating, i'm going to open up the options of both civilian characters and a new ship. neither of these will come into effect until next month, however, but here are the deets on both:
CIVILIANS: will be considered secondary-type positions. they will have relevance to overall plot and connections to the agency, but aren't necessarily meant to trump your agency characters. they'll have to be within a certain career bubble -- those in the "underground", those with crime ties, informants, etc. i haven't decided at what number i'd cap at, but it would definitely be less than 10. the character limit will not go up because of this, esp considering the next point. civilian characters are only appable for current players; new ones must hold an agency character if/when slots are available.
NEW SHIP!!!!!! which, again, isn't appable until next month when the 4th slot opens up on the 16th. i'll have all the information available a week prior, but holds may only be made on the 16th. the plot surrounding the ship will be announced in the week leading up to it as well! i'll be making the ship rather large, not unlike the kamikaze, to allow for a couple more extra positions. for now, the most important part: the name! currently there are 3 potential names: THE KIR ROYALE, THE GREEN VESPER, or THE SINGAPORE SLING. please pick your favourite in the comments below!! i'll allow votes until november 6 and announce it, with all the relevant ship info, on november 8.
now, bounties! these will always be announced in advance on the pcal, for the record. a sign up post will go up five days before a bounty is to take place, and will include the actual bounty, though that doesn't become ICly visible until that day on the pcal when it's ICly broadcasted. (does this make sense? omg.) pre-bounty posts will work on a voting system: players will have to vote in their respective threads whether they want to participate in it. majority rules -- if half of the ship's players (the kamikaze has the most at 11 positions) agree to it, they'll be eligible to participate. this is an OOC vote; characters are not voting ICly.
then on the day of the bounty, i'll announce which ship snagged it! and there will be damage rolls! don't know what that is? I WILL EXPLAIN. as per last mod post, i'm still going to roll for the ship who actually succeeded, unless, obviously, only one ship participated. which would make me sad. :'( there is also potential for a captain override (wherein the player is allowed ONE chance in game for their captain to say the final yay or nay to a bounty)! would you be alright with the implementation of this override?let me know below!
lastly! if there is anything in relation to world-building that you'd like to know that isn't on any of the pages which would require its own blurb, please let me know and i'll write it up pronto!
