at around 11am, something not unlike this (minus the cowboy theme; jadzia refuses to have a sense of humor) comes onto everyone's screen. the bounty is explained thusly: father lancaster merron has allegedly been impersonating a priest for the last year, but no one has been able to prove it. how do you accuse a man of god of such things? he's since been proven to be collecting hefty fees for the fake exorcisms he performs, and in the last month, three anonymous complaints of assault have been filed. and while he preaches at st. damian catholic church on mars, it would be out of the question to take him head on in a house of god.
this list is NOT exhaustive; it's only meant to be a general idea of injury levels! as red level bounties will be more rare, and typically killjoy approved, 9 will similarly be rare. so what happens if you don't like your roll? you may only request a reroll for a LOWER roll, not a higher one (though you will have the option of keeping your original one if you dislike the new one), as roll can always go up. how? with modifiers -- they're an opportunity to take a hit for your fellow agents to shave their count down while raising your char's roll +1. as an example: noa (4) steps in front of a knife for jim (4), bringing her count to 5 and his to 3.
modifiers also correlate with levels: a max of +1 for green, a max of +2 for yellow, and a max of +3 for red. the higher the number, the more damage rolls you can leap: noa at 5 on a yellow level can take a more severe hit and land at 7. there will be a modifier thread down below for you to post your modifiers, which i'll use to update the spreadsheet! but you don't need to use modifiers if you want to keep your roll. it's coo'.
HOW DOES MY CHARACTER GET UP TO THEIR ROLL? in one of two ways: either it's an immediate injury, like falling suddenly off scaffolding onto their leg, or it's gradual, meaning they start with a couple smaller ones to work up to the final number. whatever works for you!
CAN I KILL MY CHARACTER VIA DAMAGE ROLL? technically, yes. rolls at 8 and 9 are the only rolls in which death is permitted. with that said, character death is to be taken very seriously and ought not to be a passing thought unless you are looking to drop and are interested in a more permanent way out. you are required to discuss this with me! characters who lose their life either during a bounty or any other time are not allowed to be reapped/revamped, nor can their PBs be reused.
IS IT REQUIRED TO LOG ANYTHING? nope! but a discussion as to how it happens is somewhat required, if only to let everyone know what happened!
