Edward left Bella in a state of heartbreak and confusion, which only pushed her closer to Jacob Black. Even after learning about Jacob's little secret, Bella found that she couldn't keep herself away from him. He had become her best friend and the source of light in her life, and eventually feelings began to develop between the two of them. Meanwhile, Edward stayed away from Bella as he had promised her, and therefore couldn't see how broken she had been during his absence. It was only after Bella's cliff-diving mistake that her life began to turn upside down again. Rosalie told Edward that Bella had died, which forced him to make an irrational decision to go to Italy and face the Volturi. Alice came to check on Charlie, and instead found Bella alive and well when Jake had taken her to her house. But what if Bella had never gone to Italy? Nobody knows how old this city is, or exactly how it came to be. It’s not a desolate city by any means. Over 1,000,000 people live in Fallenpoint; the economy is excellent; and the residence are happy for the most part. One day the city, as if having a will of it’s own, begins to pull people in. Sometimes the city may invite a person, but most of the time it simply drags the person from their world into this one. When a character arrives, they find themselves in the central square. They find that they’re now carrying a bag of sorts. Inside of this bag is a netbook, the keys to their new home, and a credit card containing the equivalent of $10,000. Pretty soon characters find out that they’ve brought something along with them. Their own realities. The city of Fallenpoint has also pulled in several realities, and placed them within the pockets of it’s own reality. Characters soon discover that they can go back to their own realities, or to any other reality that is available. Those seeking to go home, however, will discover that their home world has changed dramatically. All just part of a normal day in a very abnormal world. You don’t even glance up at the shrill whine of sirens or the roar of a giant monster a few blocks over. NO SUCH PLACE: An Original Fantasy RPG [06 Nov 2009|04:59pm] headcouncil “ . . . All that was left in Pandora’s box was hope.” During the 21st century, a global pandemic swept over the world. They dubbed it the “Pandora virus,” or PV for short, because of its devastating nature. The virus tore through the world’s population. It killed almost one-third of humanity in its first month alone. Countries everywhere grew panicked, believing it to be a work of biological terrorism. Nation stood against nation, and a worldwide war began. Much of earth was laid to waste within just a handful of months by the combined effects of nuclear war and the Pandora virus. Survivors immune to the virus found the world uninhabitable, and many of them perished due to radiation poisoning or famine. There were other creatures who inhabited this planet along with human beings, though. They had just been in hiding for many centuries. Praeternaturals, they were called. Legendary beings and creatures believed to be nothing more than myth. They were also biologically immune to the Pandora virus. With the foresight of the oracle Euryale, groups of praeternaturals learned of what was to come and prepared for the preordained onslaught. They had built safe havens protected by magic in hidden areas across the world. Taking in as many humans and praeternaturals alike as they could before the war, these communities provided a stable living environment for the survival of all species. One such safe haven is an ancient land once inhabited by elves, abandoned by them long ago, and renovated into a sanctuary. They call it Elysium. INCANTO [05 Nov 2009|08:12pm] mods_incanto INCANTO a Marauder Era RPG It's 1977; school's out for Summer, but this Summer feels strange... dark, somehow. It won't be long before school will start again, and Owls from Hogwarts are winging their way across the country with the promise of another perfectly normal year at Hogwarts. Homework will be piled on, the threat of looming exams being beaten into ignorant minds, but for now, at least, it's Summer, yet... something doesn't feel right. It's so much darker this year than it was last year. The days seem to be shortening beyond comprehension. The fog is thick and cold and constant, not to mention the fact that everyone seems so glum. There are disappearances being noted in the newspaper, but everything seems vague, as though someone knows what is going on, but too afraid to voice it aloud. The adults seem a bit on edge, uncertain how to handle the evil that is lurking in the shadows. The students, for the most part, are completely unaware of what is going on, even those whose parents are deep in the throes of swearing their allegiance to one side or another. The students, it seems, live in a world of their own, one untouched by the misery and doom of the outside world. Still, there seems to be something very unpleasant lurking unsaid, something creeping and crawling into the very veins of those it infects. Though there are only whispers, and people are afraid to voice their fears out loud, there are some things that cannot be fought. After all, it's difficult to feel protected by magic when the other side can use it, too. Incanto is a straightforward Marauder Era game. No weird twists, no time travel, nothing out of the ordinary. If you just want a game that is canon, then this is for you. Our emphasis in this game is on character development rather than plot development - we will not puppeteer your characters and encourage you to generate your own plots. Millionaire Cleveland Pickens built the Heritage Lake Lodge in 1910 as a hotel and resort for folks who just wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. He wanted The Lodge to be an oasis -- a luxury lodging facility in tune with the natural world and with the grandeur of nature as close as the backyard. The town of Heritage originally sprang up around The Lodge and Heritage Lake as a community to house the resort workers. What started as temporary housing expanded to a permanent town structure by the 1950s. Resort workers married, started families, and had children. The town grew, and though there are many local businesses and schools, the economy of the town still relies greatly on the success of the Heritage Lake Lodge -- because of the jobs it provides and the tourism it brings to the area. A thin layer of dust covers everything. There are no panes of glass in the windows. The virus. You remember now. They told you stasis was a precaution. Only a few weeks. A month, at best. Let them get the virus under control. Standing beside your pod, legs shaking from disuse, you feel a sense of apprehension creeping over you. Your heart beats even faster now.
