The assanination of the beloved King Bermund and his family by savages from the frontier seven years ago threw the kingdom into chaos. Countless settlements in the borderlands were pillaged and burned to ash. Criminal elements once confined to shadows rose up and took control of entire cities. Any with royal blood and a possible claim to the throne were murdered in the streets and in their beds. For two years the kingdom burned. For two years law was forgotten. Until the then Lord Anson with the military and Mage's Guild at his back staked claim to his late cousin's throne and together they began restoring order. The remaining bastions of civilization were fortified, the army stormed the borderlands and chased the savages back into the frontier, the navy took back the seas and the skies from pirates, and the cities were cleansed of the criminal cancers that had flourished.
Many welcomed Anson when he named himself Sovereign, praising the order he had returned to the land but some took note of what else came with the newly crowned Sovereign. More than the criminals were purged from the cities, seemingly innocent non-humans too were expelled until the cities were all but empty of non-humans. Guilds that supported Sovereign Anson grew in power while those that questioned him or did not immediate bend a knee found new laws restricting their trades and reducing their power. But most shocking was the return of slavery to the Sovereignty. The Sovereignty brought with it order but at the cost the cost was subjugation.
Those who saw sinister intent behind the Sovereign and his new order rebelled against their new master and eventually banded together into an organized resistance. For every town that was occupied by the Sovereign's forces for a rumored loyalty to the resistance, three more turned on the Sovereignty. So too did many of the Elven enclaves, Dwarven halls and Gnomish burrows join the resistance after the Sovereignty had exiled so many non-humans from the cities and positions of power. While the resistance tasked itself with sabotaging the growing threat of the Sovereignty it's true purpose was to protect the only honest hope for a return to peace, another heir and potential challenger to the throne.
For five years the resistance grew, struck out against the Sovereignty and kept the heir safe. The response by the Sovereignty was measured, albeit unforgiving, occupying areas believed to be sympathetic to the resistance, imprisoning or enslaving those believed to have assisted the resistance and executing those found to be resistance members until Delheim. When the Sovereignty attacked the city of Delheim and burned it, along with every citizen in it, to the ground, an all out war erupted.
Now, with fields stained in blood, five resistance cities under siege by Sovereignty forces and resistance forces striking out at every weakness they can find in the Sovereignty's war machine, proving the legitimacy of the resistance's heir is more vital than ever. A small team of resistance agents have been tasked with locating an legendary artifact, a relic from another age, that can do just that. The team is not alone in this search, for the Sovereignty knows about the relic as well and has dispatched its own hunters, creating a race between the two sides. A race that could very well determine the fate of the realm.
Is anyone interested in developing a slash psl with this character based on the above setting? I'm looking for something high-fantasy with magic, swords, dragons and everything else that makes that genre so much fun. Mazin here was created with loose Dungeon & Dragons guidelines in mind but you don't need to have any knowledge or experience with D&D (no need to role dice of anything). Members of his team would be great (exsisting or new) so give me your thieves, treasure hunters, warriors and resistance members, but I'd be equally as happy with the smuggler they hire to get them into/out of a city, a prisoner they need to break out because he knows the way to some lost ruin thy need to find, the loyal Sovereignty agent that has been working as a mole in the resistance, or anyone else that you can think of. I'd be happy with any race (human, dwarf, elf, half-orc, tiefling or even dragon), I just want to write a fantasy adventure.
