WHO: Cassandra and Alecto
WHEN: Backdated to Wednesday, lunchtime
WHERE: Diagon Alley
WHAT: Ladies who lunch? er.. yeah
RATING: Probably low

Healers appointments, books to read, plans to make. Considering Cassandra had thought that her decision to not find a proper form of employment after marrying Walden might lead to boredom on her part.. she had never been so wrong. She was happy about it now, no mistaking that. Merlin only knew how women who had to work through a pregnancy managed it. She would have lost her mind, snapped at someone or would have cried all over who knew how many co-workers. Those scenarios alone were enough to make her praise the fact that she had married a man who could support her in full.

That money was being spent in full now, well she was trying to be mindful of the galleons she spent but she'd need new robes soon so they had to be ordered and she'd wanted to see if she could find a mobile that reminded her of the one that had been in her family for years to hang over the crib... and whoops a whole morning of money and shopping had gone by.

Bags in hand she made her way to the Apothecary that Alecto spent far too much of her time in. Her stomach was already telling her that it was past time to eat.

Alecto had managed to take off for lunch, by promising to drop off a shipment to the Diagon apothecary. Tobias gave her over an hour, and she went to the Diagon shop first, with a box full of Abyssinian shrivelfig, got her receipt, and walked briskly out of the shop. It seemed she was just in time to see Cassandra walking towards her.

She looked radiant. All those people who said that pregnant women glowed weren't lying. Alecto's eyes got wide as she stared at her friend. "Cassandra, you look great!" she exclaimed. "So... how are things progressing?"

Timing was apparently on her side today. Cassandra's face lit up with a wide smile as she spotted her friend making her way out of the Diagon apothecary. Now see, this would have been where Cassandra recalled that her brain was slowly and surely turning to swiss cheese. Should she have made certain that Alecto would have enough lunch time all the way out in London... probably. Did she? Of course not. Thankfully though, it all worked out

She took a few quick steps forward and embraced Alecto whether she wanted a hug or not. "Oh thank you Alecto," She said giving her a squeeze and finally stepping back. "It's all good so far, fingers crossed. Though I'm fairly certain I'm eating my weight daily." She added with a laugh before linking her free arm with Alecto's. "And you look beautiful as always. How you've not had- I'll stop." Cassandra actually managed to stop herself from going down the how wasn't she dating anyone path yet again.

Alecto gave a genuine smile and actually hugged Cassandra back. She finally accepted the simple fact that Cassandra was a hugger and she better get used to it. She laughed when Cassandra mentioned eating her weight. "Well, then I suppose we better get you some lunch. Besides, I have an hour, so lets get going," she said with a grin.

She linked her arm with Cassandra's and started walking, but sighed when Cassandra brought up her complete lack of a sex life. "Neanderthals, gorillas, and idiots," she said in a sing-song voice. "When I find a suitable man, one who actually likes me back, I will begin dating," she said matter-of-factly.

"But enough about me, how far along are you again? I keep forgetting!"

"Did we decide where we were eating? Or what we were eating?" Cassandra cocked her head to the side as she asked the question. "I'll warn you now, I'm apparently entirely incapable of remembering much of anything anymore. And I'm not a fan of it." Not in the slightest. She had taken to charming notes on the walls for herself so she wouldn't forget important things like healers appointments.

Cassandra couldn't help but laugh as she gave Alecto's arm a squeeze. "I'd argue with that but I know I'd be wrong. I like to think there are some exceptions to that rule of course." Though Cassandra would be lying if she didn't think that Walden had his more neanderthal moments. Just like she had her ridiculous ones. Her laughter died slightly as she turned her squeeze into a comforting pat. "Oh Alecto, was there someone? Well clearly he is an idiot if he didn't like you back!" She said with a strong authoritative nod of her head. Just try arguing with that!

A hand drifted to the still mostly flat plane of her stomach. "Only 10 weeks now. Getting there though. Eventually."

Alecto grinned as they walked. "We can eat wherever you like. I'm not the one with strange cravings or whatever. How does that work, exactly? I mean, do you just wake up and think about pickles or something?"

Though Alecto's smile faded a bit when Cassandra asked if there was someone. Oh, how to answer that question. Well, it was true, there was someone who just happened to marry someone else. The irony of this situation made Alecto snort with derisive laughter. "Well, you could say that. But that's in the past," she said dismissively.

She made a deliberate change in the conversation. "Ten weeks? Wow... that's still first trimester right? I have confess, I know nothing about pregnancy."

"It just hits you, something that sounds so inexplicably good that you just have to eat it." Cassandra explained as her feet seemed to take her down the street toward a pub. Chips she needed chips. With fish she supposed, but chips were required. "At least that's how it works for me." She said with a laugh before lifting a hand and pointing down the street at the pub. "Sound good to you? I seem to remember good food last time I went there when I was still interning."

Cassandra's eyes flickered slightly as Alecto's smile faded. Oh dear, there had been someone. She gave Alecto's arm a comforting sort of squeeze. "Oh Alecto I'm sorry. We'll find someone better who will most certainly want you and only you." She added with a definitive nod of her head. If anything Cassandra was all too optimistic.

"Nothing to confess I knew little, well I suppose I've always known some with as many nieces and nephews as I have now. But it's entirely different when it's your own pregnancy. You're right though, still the first trimester and filled with unpleasant sickness that isn't just in the morning." She said with a laugh as they neared the pub.

Alecto shrugged. "Pub's fine. I wonder if I could have a pint before I go back to work," she mused. "Though I think it's amusing that with all the choices in the world, you pick pub food," she said with a grin. "No matter, let's go."

Cassandra's next comment was met with a dismissive wave. "I'm not that concerned with finding someone Cassandra, you know that." Alecto did realize that finding someone else would help her get over Walden. But at this moment, she had other things to worry about.

"Oh dear, so you're still getting sick?" Alecto was suddenly very thankful she wasn't with someone, just in case. Pregnancy sounded rather unpleasant.
