Auror seriously wounded during investigation

Alastor Moody, Head Auror was wounded in the line of duty last week. He was in the middle of investigating a rash of muggle deaths; all which had dark marks flying above their homes. Moody and a fellow auror, Dennis Locksley, were following up on a lead, when they were attacked. Both men are stable, but injured. They have not been available for comment, and their attackers remain unknown. No more information has been obtained regarding the muggle murders, and DMLE has refused comment about it.

Earlier yesterday evening, muggle authorities discovered Gareth and Arlais Jones dead in their home. The muggle authorities were baffled, by this death, but due to the two witch daughters, the DMLE investigated the deaths today, and it appears the killing curse was used. There was no mark above their home, but the DMLE suspects Death Eater activity. Two out of the three Jones daughters are missing: Hestia, a witch who works with us at The Daily Prophet and her muggle sister Sian. The youngest, Gwenog Jones, is a student at Hogwarts and is safe. The Daily Prophet staff wishes to extend their deepest sympathies for the Jones family and their loved ones. If anyone has any information regarding the missing Jones sisters, please contact the DMLE office or The Daily Prophet.

Late Saturday night, the Catchlove Bakery in Diagon Alley caught fire, sustaining minor structural damage. No one was killed during the attack, but the proprietors were injured and were taken to St. Mungo's. Augustus Catchlove suffered from severe burns, while his wife, Helga, has suffered smoke inhalation. Their daughter, Greta Catchlove was also brought to St. Mungo's with lesser injuries, and is unavailable for comment. Hitwizards were on the scene yesterday. Today a hitwizard, who preferred to remain anonymous, has suggested that the fire was possibly the result of arson.
