I think our best option at this point is to work towards achieving 3rd choice because I have a strong feeling we're going to have a round 2 of these elections

I've just done some quick, dirty, and probably inaccurate maths. No candidate can reach 50% of the vote with the current stats, so it will return to highest 1st choice wins, which means legomymalfoy will take it. I think that's a result I can live with. Although, I think not Jameth is a result I can live with!

Incidentally, I've just noticed that the poll says:

What definition of None are they using?

That's not what their modified methodology says.
"-If a user has more than 50% of the first-choice vote, that candidate will be declared the winner
-If no user has more than 50% of the first-choice vote, we will begin using an Instant Runoff process. The user with the lowest tally for first-choice vote will be eliminated, and the second choice candidate on those ballots will be substituted as first choice. This process will continue (drop lowest candidate, reassign to next vote, tally again) until any user has more than 50% of the vote.
-If all ballots are exhausted and no candidate has more than 50% of the vote, we will return to the first round and award the election to the candidate with the most 1st choice votes."

	It depends on how "the vote" is counted. If it is the total votes then they are right, if it is the number of votes which still have a candidate not eliminated then he is not. Not very clear really. (Reply to this) (Parent)

So, assuming that Jameth, Legomymalfoy and rm are the only people left in the race after the elimination rounds, and assuming that no voter has been stupid enough to select the same candidate as 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice, each of those three comes out with five thousand and something votes (or they did yesterday when I last checked). Which is approx. a third of the vote each. One of the candidates would have to have more than double the cumulative votes of the others for a win.
