Prompt 1 - Who are you?
"Who are you?"

I'm the Battling Bard from Potadeia and Xena's best friend. My name is Gabrielle and I wouldn't be the person I am today if I hadn't met her. She saw something in me that allowed me to be who the fates meant me to be.

I began my journey in a small village in Potadeia. I never felt like I fit in there. Even my sister Lila who I love, didn't always understand me. 'There were no female bards, it was a silly dream.' That's what my parents thought and they betrothed me to a nice boy named Perdicus. I was resigned to live my life how everyone thought I should until our village was raided by Draco's men looking for slaves. That's when Xena arrived and I saw my destiny. I didn't know at the time it was to be by her side, I only knew that there had to be more outside of Potadeia, and she could show me.

So I did what I used to do best. I talked my way into her life. Over our journeys, there have been many twists and turns. I went from a naïve village girl, to an Amazon Princess, to a Queen and fighting beside Xena as we help villages like the one I left. I never pictured my life where I am now, but I've never felt more complete than I do. Xena was the best thing that ever happened to me.
