Prompt #2: Family
When I think of my family, I have two very different groups in my head. There's my family back home. I love them all dearly, especially my mother, and I miss them terribly. But nowadays, I've had to focus on, well, the family that is all the team here in Atlantis. We're all so... drawn together. All of us would never have known each other, if it weren't for these circumstances. And yet, I'm closer to many of them, now even more than my own flesh and blood. And I am proud to be part of that Atlantis family.

[ooc: Yes, short and lame, I'm still feeling my way through the character. Open for comments/RP.]

We're just as proud of you, Carson.

Well, you have to be. I'm the one who patches you up after whatever latest horrible mishap you get yourselves into.

You should appeal to Colonel Sheppard to lessen your workload.

Certainly. But it wouldn't do any good, now, would it?

Probably not.

Giving him a good scolding every now and again isn't without it's own merits, though.

And even if the results aren't so great, it's a wee bit of fun.

I'd have to agree with her. And that's not just as a friend, but a doctor as well.

Stress is the biggest problem we try to ignore. Relaxation does wonders for the health, in the right dose, of course.

I suspect I'm not going to hear the end of this in a hurry.

Just doing my job. But I'll leave it alone, for now.

Well, someone has to be concerned. Might as well be me.

One day, I'm going to worry about you, and then where will we be?

Oh, no one needs to worry about me. Well, as long as no one asks me to test the latest bit of ancient technology that's been discovered. As long as I'm left to do what I do best, shouldn't ever be a problem.

As well as ever. Don't have any personal complaints. And how about yourself?

I'm doing quite well, as a matter of fact. My appointment roster isn't full today, so I think I'm going to catch up on some reading.

I can hardly counsel anyone to take some time for themselves if I don't take the time for myself, can I?

Very true, I have to admit. Still, it's a quality that around here most seem to forget.

That is the one drawback to sending a number of overachieving geniuses to another galaxy. Still, the rewards are worth it.

Any particular rewards you're referring to, or are ye just talking in general?

Just in general. I'm sure we all have our own list of personal rewards of being a part of this expedition, though.
