Prompt #29: Dear Maitimo...


Dear Maitimo,

I know that if this letter is over-long you'll only throw it into the fire without reading it, but please bear with me and try to read it all, it's important.

They say that there is perfect vision in hindsight. When you finally reach the place where I am now, you'll look back at all that's happened inbetween and you'll wish that you could have done everything differently. And I mean everything.

Listen to me, Maitimo. Following Father on this wild chase will gain nothing but bloodshed, despair, death. It will achieve nothing, and lose everything, starting with your hand, and getting worse from there onwards. You will lose your father, your brothers, your cousin. Yes, even Findekano, whom you love so much, will die because of this foolish errand.

Only you, as soon-to-be-head of House Feanor, can bring an end to the madness. Turn around and go home, and take those you love with you, before it's too late.
