prompt 001; who are you?
Elizabeth Weir.

It's a relatively simple answer, and accurate as far as it goes.

I'm a diplomat and a leader. I like to think that I'm a good friend, and a trustworthy ally. I'm the person that my choices made me, and I believe that, with the usual exceptions, those choices were the right ones. Or at least the best ones I could make. That the right thing and the best thing aren't always the same wasn't a lesson I relished learning.

I'm a different person, in some ways, to who I was just three years ago. For this I can alternately thank and blame the variety of people in Atlantis who work with and under me; Teyla gets thanked and John and Rodney get blamed.

There's really only so much you can say about yourself without getting ridiculous or too autobiographical; I'm not quite ready to pen my memoirs. So:

My name is Elizabeth Weir, and I am exactly who I want to be -- with room for improvement.

[I have not seen all of season three as yet, and will not yet (if ever) be writing Elizabeth totally up to speed with canon as it stands. However, I cut the post Just In Case. If there are any problems, please let me know!]

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Trust me.

Dude. I am in love with your icon. Which FF member is Lizzie supposed to be? Sue?

*points at icon* This icon describes how I feel about the fourth season casting spoilers.

Sue, yeah! zibina77@lj made it, I just snagged it.

Ahaha, god, yeah.

I certainly wouldn't have expected any of us to travel to Atlantis and emerge unchanged.

Hello, Elizabeth.

Atlantis has that effect on people.

Hello, Kate.

I completely agree. It's an amazing place. I had considered writing a paper on how some of us were affected by it, but I felt it would be too intrusive.

I wouldn't have imagined I'd see you here.

I think that's something you'd have to discuss with the people you intend to write about.

Wouldn't you have?

True, though given that it would also be tied up with the changes that I've been through, I've decided against it. For now.

I'm not sure where this place draws members from. It's drawn a fair amount of the expedition members, though.

Understandable.

So I've seen.

I realized I hadn't been quite clear.

You've been exploring?

You could say that -- although not very widely, no.

I spent some time looking around when I had an appointment cancel earlier today. What do you think of what you've seen?

I think it's very interesting. It's hard to judge it this early.

The amount of people here that I already know was a pleasant surprise, so. Yes.

*laughs* Of course Rodney gets the blame! Rodney is responsible for so much of the things that go wrong. And when it's not the city he's getting into difficulties, it's himself.

I mean, are you running a city or a kindergarten? With those two around, I certainly can't tell!

Rodney is also responsible -- at least in part -- for many of the accomplishments in Atlantis.

Although I won't argue with you that they have their...moments.

Hello Elizabeth, I am Celena.

I believe that over time all beings change, at least those worth knowing do. At least you are comfortable with those changes within yourself if you are exactly who you want to be. There are many who cannot say that.

(( Not the best but come on I HAD to! =P ))

I noticed you are one of those working on, or should that be in, Atlantis. Would you mind telling me about your first impressions of it? It has been something of a tale among the Courts and I am curious.

My first impression of Atlantis was that it was every bit as amazing as I'd previously believed.
