I dream about my family, the days when we were whole and everything was different.

I dream about things being that way again, and perhaps that is my most painful dream. Because things can't be that way, things will never be that way, and yet there's still a part of me that'll always keep on wishing for it.

The boys would get a kick out of that, I think, knowing there's a sentimental side to their old man. Though I think they already know it, not that I ever really let it show for long.

After all, in this business, sentimentality often gets you killed.

That is one of the most frightening things I have ever read. I wonder...

For Alison, did she see someone other than me after a bit? It was all fireworks and candy to begin with but after I got on the squad... well to say she cooled would be an understatement. I think her accusations are what give me the thought in the first place. I mean I don't normally, you know, but after one particularly close shave, well things happen don't they?

She and Jack, both of them, they hate each other but they're so alike. They're looking for someone and I think they're just making do with me. Or maybe they just hate themselves so much they don't know how to treat anyone.

I do wonder who they see, I do wonder if they tell lies, do they even think of me at all?

I reckon not.
