I Resist the Muses

What do I want? Oh, that's easy. Complete and total domination of the world. Yeah, it's no Miss America answer, but I'm not really the Miss America type. I can't walk in heels for shit, for one thing. The only kind of world peace I'm interested in is the kind that exists because all of humanity is united under my iron (or at least leather-clad) fist.

That's really all I could ask for. Well, that and the destruction of my enemies. Or at least them saying they were sorry they'd ever opposed me. That'd be pretty cool.

And just between you and me, electronic journal, it'd be nice if a certain somebody called me something other than "worm" once in a while. And if maybe I had some real friends instead of everybody, good or evil, just trying to get in a laugh at my expense.

But I'll settle for world domination.

I want a hot cabana boy that’s shirtless and dressed in leather pants to bring me tall cool drinks with swizzie sticks in them as I sit on a white sandy beach under a tropical sun.

I want to dance the night away in some club in a nameless city with a lot of nameless men.

I want to spend hours in a smoky biker bar, playing pool and having fun.

I want to hike through the mountains of China, discovering places I’ve never been.

I want to steal the Hope Diamond to say I could.

I want to take my Harley and ride on 101 along the California coast.

I want to see Lenny Kravitz in person again and watch him make love to the guitar. The man’s amazing.

I want to see the Seven Wonders of the World. The old list not the new one because seriously… the Christ statue?

I want to spend a day snowboarding in Tignes, France.

Love is like water; it changes its shape to match its container.

It is harsh and cruel and bittersweet. It will tear you apart in your quest to love someone, even if they hurt and despise you.

It is also kind and caring; it will always be there and depend upon you like you depend upon them.

It will never leave and it will haunt your soul forever.

What would make my life easier? A decrease in the percentage of stupid people I have to deal with. Honestly. As much as I don’t mind making gowns and costumes for movie stars, they are such an unbearable bother to work with; so demanding, so self-centered. As if they even know what they’re talking about. Don’t get me started on the so-called “super models”. Ugh. I know it’s impossible, but I wish everyone could possess at least a fraction of my brilliance. It would make them so much easier to work with.

Right now? Sushi, I think. It’s getting close to lunch time…

Oh no, I’m not sure what I could possibly want that I don’t have now. I’m famous, wealthy, respected. I practically run the fashion industry for both mere mortals and Supers. I outfit half of Hollywood and most of the NSA, so I have all the work I could ever want. I am sought after, in demand, so I can pick and choose what I want to work on. I have an abundance of clients, fans, and friends. I have everything. Really, darling, what more could I ask for?

Hell if I know. What a ridiculous question.

Here Be My Magic (point, swish, shoot, baby oh yeah) by the Three Witches and I? No, no, the tempo is far too fast. And I don’t ever have the urge to ‘get funky with my walnut stick’. I do have good wand control, though.

How about Down Dangerous Dragon by Kick-it-good? My name means dragon, did you know? Or serpent. It’s also a constellation.

No, no, that’s not right either. I need to think of a song that encompasses all of my charm, charisma and magnetism, stunning good looks, immaculate dress sense and to-die-for body. Broom Handle Baby by Shove it and the Ups?

I don’t really know many Muggle songs. Some of the other students used to play music in the common rooms at Hogwarts, but the Slytherins weren’t exactly into all that mudblood mambo. The dungeons were home to a few half-bloods, though and I seem to remember one particular girl who had a thing for a Muggle singer I think was called Wheat Loaf . She used to play this one song over and over again. It was called: I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That). I realise it’s a love song, but it’s also about a feeling being so strong that a man is prepared to do almost anything. That sums up my last two years at school.

Some might call me a back-stabbing, two-faced snake, but I’ve always been dedicated and loyal to my family. I did terrible things to keep us all alive and, if I had to, I would do those terrible things again.
