What are your thoughts on love?

Had I been born 100 years earlier, perhaps my views on love would be different. Jedi were told that love was forbidden. This belief always confused me. As a Jedi, I look for ways to help others. I offer advice. I give of myself to perform anything I can to protect and save lives. This is the love a Jedi shares for those they do not know. There are ways to balance being a Jedi and loving another intimately, the same as anyone would balance their professional and private lives. Sharing love with a beloved is one of the ultimate expressions of life and connection within the Force. I could not imagine my life without the daughter this love has brought to me. I would never give up this part of myself.

I am descended from a very old and very wealthy pure-blood wizarding family. I won’t bore you or myself with details, but you must be aware that I only consider my mother and father, Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, to be my real family.

We are in disgrace. We chose the wrong side during the war and now we are paying the price. I think we probably deserve it.

I care not for blood supremacy or status. I care not for how long the Malfoys and the Blacks have been in existence. I just want to be happy. I just want Mother and Father to be happy. Although I still live at the Manor with them, I am unsure what they want. I’m too afraid to ask.

What makes me laugh? That's easy. I laugh at how naive the kine are, and how permanent they think their grand schemes and world building will be. They are fools. Nothing built by mortal hands lasts - indeed nothing build by immortal hands last, either, without supervision and maintenance. The kine always forget that vital piece of planning in their schemes and so they all too often crumble into dust eventually following the path taken by the architects of the plan.

There is nothing quite as amusing as the follies of man.

I think love is a wonderful thing. It’s glorious and painful and addictive and it forces you to feel. To be loved is like being wrapped in a big warm blanket, an expensive one. Love is comforting and to live without it in some form would be like existing as an empty husk. How very bleak indeed.

I have never loved nor been loved romantically (although, I suspect Pansy Parkinson harboured more than a little crush). I haven’t had much time for romance –what with trying to plot, scheme, survive a war, kill people and other such frivolities.

I do love my parents, though, with all my heart (yes, I do have one), and everything I did during my sixth and seventh years at Hogwarts, I did for them, for us. I was prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of my family. I was prepared to lose my soul; and I don’t mean to the Dementors.

"Who are you?"
That's a dangerous question, if you know the answer. Kind of a Pandora's Box for the mind.
Or soul, if you believe in such things.
