I Resist the Muses

Good morning all!

There will be no new prompt this week. Instead, you can take this free week to catch up on any prompts you haven't had time to do yet.

I do have a few announcements though.

1. The requirement for keeping your muse active is one prompt out of eight. We've now had eight prompts. Next week, I'll be going through and checking for activity. If you've recently claimed your muse, you don't need to worry. But if you have muses that you've had since the beginning and haven't posted for and you haven't talked to the mods, you may be removed for inactivity.

2. All apps have been processed and the Claimed Character List is updated.

3. If you haven't yet, please join voices_carry. Announcements like this generally go in that community. Additionally, if you haven't already, please fill out this feedback poll. Also, don't forget about the Prompt Suggestion Box.

My greatest loss?

I am several thousand years old and immortal, so loss has been a recurring feature of my life.

Loss is one of the few consistencies of my life and is to be expected sooner or later. No one particular incident stands out. They were equally as sad.

They are best forgotten.

When I am feeling blue I ride out on the next patrol and kill some orcs. It never fails to cheer me, seeing the bastards with a sword through their guts and twisting in agony.

When there is no opportunity to go on patrol I refine my gift for sarcasm - I find it amusing.

The other day I said something trivial and Elrond looked at me and said, "The patrol doesn't come back for another three weeks but I am sure we can fit you on the next one."

Am I that obvious?

Oh, this is an easy one. I'm a 21st century digital boy all the way.

The lyrics say it all - dad the oblivious businessman, emotionally absent mother, spoiled brat kid who knows how to talk to computers better than people. It's me.

I'm Adam Pierson. I'm a researcher. I have real a knack for languages, so I do a lot of translating, especially dead languages found in ancient civilizations. I find the work fascinating.

I'm an immortal. I've lived a really long time and I've had to a chance to do just about everything. I have no desire to play the game, do feel free to think I'm an easy mark because of that.
