After arriving home from the conference in Las Vegas, Daniel had placed the small piece of paper with Jennae's phone numbers on his desk and silently contemplated it for a few days. He hadn't pursued a friendship in a long time, let alone a relationship, so he wasn't sure of protocol here. One thing that he knew for certain was that he'd like to talk to Jennae again. She seemed like a nice young woman, a little too work orientated... but, honestly, like he wasn't that way himself.

One night, after a particularly grueling day at work, he picked up his cellphone and dialed hers, knowing the number by heart now. He hesitated in calling her that much. Of course, he wasn't the least bit surprised when he got her voicemail.

While an LA native, Daniel Portman was currently in Las Vegas to attend a medical conference. He went to them several times a year, leaving his 16-year-old daughter home alone. After conferences in Vegas, he went to the same coffee house and ordered a short stack with a cup of coffee. He was currently dressed in a pair of jeans and a white collared shirt rolled at the sleeves and was twisting his wedding ring around his finger thoughtfully, before doing something that had been on his mind recently:... he slid it off and placed it down on the table.

What a fucking night. Seriously. If you had told Jason Abrams only two weeks ago that not only would he be a watcher, but that his Slayer was a slightly aggressive girl from Russia, and that while ATTEMPTING to train her, she'd severely injure his arm? He'd have laughed. Yet... here he was, sitting in the ER, cradling what he HOPED was only a severely sprained forearm, feeling like just about the wimpiest man alive. Yeah. An ex-marine. Felt wimpy. Yay slayers, huh?

Jennae was in the ER working another 11 plus hour shift. She had just finished tending a young boy who had suffered a partial tear of the ligament in his ankle after taking a spill off his skateboard. The emergency room doctor was thankful the casualties being brought in had seemed to hit a lull for the moment, and it was her hope, foolish as that might be, that it would last til the end of her shift, which would end in another hour.

"Mister Abrams?" She called out stepping into the lobby of the ER glancing over the man's paperwork held on a clipboard.
